I recently got caught out at Tibshelf services when I overstayed the 2 hour limit. I had not seen any signs though when I went back they were obvious enough. When you are driving into a strange environment you tend to look where you are going not at signs. I was there waiting for someone and used their facilities for refreshment etc and when I said this to them after getting the charge through the post they accepted it and lowered the charges to £15 for the excess fee and admin charge. To me this was brilliant and much better than the £60 so I gladly accepted it. As I am currently unemployed I was very greatfull but now I've seen this article I will fight harder next time. I have printed off the glovebox guide and will keep it in the car in case it ever happens again.:(

Article? The articles and Glovebox Guide are old (still correct but not the current info).
Current forum here, read the stickies at the top by Crabman and especially 'welcome, please read before posting' with the Watchdog video:

You only had to Google 'private parking ticket' or 'private services parking ticket' or something and you would have known it was all a scam. At least you were only taken for a ride to the tune of £15.
You don't need to 'fight hard' with a private ticket at all. You must just ignore it. Read the current threads and watch the Watchdog solicitor.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

You don't need to "fight harder next time". You just need to ignore them. All your correspondence succeeded in achieving, was to get you a bill for £15, which I imagine was something that you could do without.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0 -
The best fight is just to ignore them. CP Plus were chasing me for £180 for overstaying in Exeter services and I just ignored them, eventually they gave up.0
