It does a good job on my oven racks :D which is all I bought it for as we don't like bio detergents on our clothes.

    Try Netto's own then. £1.88 for 5 kilos :D

Thanks all (and newlywed great minds do think alike - I knew you weren't my stalker ha ha) - I will give it a go then. Now that I think about it I think it's 5kg for £1.60ish so not much of a risk, possible great gain :D

Will go forth in the name of all that is MSE and give it a go :T

That sounds brilliant Quasar. I am so jealous of you people, we dont have Netto, Aldi or Lidl where I live.

I tried Lidl's own brand and it was an expensive mistake - all the socks became stiff as a corpse and could not be softened again even with vinegar.

(and yet Lidl's dishwasher powder is fantastic value.)

I now stick to persil and Arial. Someone posted on here a year or so ago who used to work in a consumer testing lab saying that Arial is best for stains and Paersil is best for whites. So I use both and stock up when they're cheap
It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!

I was just going to post I've bought a big box from Lidl and it's great! Just goes to show you have to try it and see if it suits you.

I use Lidl's own Bio, I find that it is quite concentrated compared to Tesco's value stuff.
If I use too much, things end up a bit stiff

But, much as we like to see suds, most automatic powders are low suds and we shouldn't see a washer full of bubbles. :D

  • Is it true that bio powder damages fabrics or is that not tue/not true anymore?

Sainsbury's cheapo bio also comes in a smaller box usually about 50p. I use it half and half with soda crystals, not had any problems.

Thanks Hardpressed - great to know you have used it - I did see the smaller box for 50p, but if it works, I am happy to get the Big Box and see how we go as I now have the soda crystals as well. Happy that it's so cheap, compared to my usual £5ish spend for a box of branded stuff!
