How would you play this? Seller reneged on deal and relisted item at higher price

" That's feedback extortion though."
It may not be as the OP would only be asking for what is due from the sale, however I think the threat of feedback is unpleasant and unnecessary regardless of the seller's behaviour. In this case I think a refund and feedback left is best unless the seller does something great, like posts today at the agreed price by SD to ensure it arrives in time for xmas, they don'thave to but it's the only way I can see they'd be able to make up for their mistake. In the game of chess you can never let your adversary see your pieces0 -
Just to be clear, as per other threads on here I do not have a problem with a seller cancelling a sale if he has got the price wrong, however the manner in which the seller in the OP has gone about this is completely wrong and deserves negative feedback.
That said, threatening negative feedback to force a seller to sell something is feedback extortion and is more likely to do the buyer harm than the seller. It may sometimes seem like I can't spell, I can, I just can't type0 -

No I disagree. Your just factually telling them your going to leave 1 star and negative feedback and why. Your not asking for or saying anything else.
If they then want to offer the item at the agreed price, thats up to them.illegitimi non carborundum0 -

Doesn't matter. The fact you tell them before hand what you intend to do could be seen as extortion and I wouldn't take the chance. It may sometimes seem like I can't spell, I can, I just can't type0 -
I guess you could ask them if they wanted to know what your feedback was going to be? Thats nowhere near extortion.illegitimi non carborundum0

Really I wouldn't risk this with ebay- an argumentative seller , especially if they were a big business seller might well be able to persuade ebay it is feedback extortion.
Seller must know they risk a neg- so just do it and walk away from the transaction.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. It may be close enough for the possibility of CS removing any feedback but why would the OP want to trade with such a seller. The seller cancelled, let them do so, leave feedback that is calm and factual and move on.In the game of chess you can never let your adversary see your pieces0 -
Not really interested in them sending me the item now. I can get it for not much more as a "buy it now" from another seller, and it's not an urgent Xmas purchase.
Just really browned off at the way they have gone about this, especially marking it as sent a week ago. Not too happy about the way they blatantly relisted it straight away either.
The message from ebay says it will automatically cancel the sale in 7 days if I don't respond one way or the other.0 -

As per all the posts above- respond and say you still want the item- they can't force you to pay for it as you can show you already did and they declined the payment.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Refuse cancellation, so they lose their fees, and a neg and low DSR's.
Appauling treatment AND arrogance by the seller.0
