My O2 phone went off at 8am this morning, and my Vodafone hasn't kicked in yet!!
How long does this usually take?!

It can happen within a couple of hours but some sites say to wait up to a day.

Remember to turn your phone off and on to "reboot" the sim. If it hasn't started by 5pm give Vodaphone a ring."Cheap", "Fast", "Right" -- pick two.0

Thanks guys
Yes I've turned it off several times, for varying amounts of time, but still nothing.
Thing is I'm at work now and have to rush straight to college therefore I won't be able to ring Vodafone until tomorrow evening if phone doesn't start up! I needed to make some calls in the car on my way to college re jobs, but doesn't look like I'll be able to do that tonight! :mad:0 -
I'd call them at 4pm, the porting teams will normally be daytime shifts so at least they can contact the other points in the chain, once it gets to the evening there is no guarantee that they can contact the other companies teams etc.
It's probably worthwhile actually switching the new phone on and seeing if you can make a call, the outgoing side of things always works before the inbound calls do so you could well be able to make the calls, just not receive calls back0 -
I'm just on the landline to Vodafone now (kind boss!). The ladies saying they have no notice of my PAC code - well they must have cause O2 cut me off this morning!
I have no signal to make outgoing calls! The sim is saying it's not yet registered which means Voda haven't done their bit

Got mine activated at 4pm at last! The 'porting' department just needed a kick up the botty. They didn't even have a record of the sim number that they sent to me so I had to give them all they're info back again!
There at last anyway! Thanks guys! :T
