Just to clarify they are not offering to repair or to refund, but to just repair the vehicle, I wanted to know If I was within my rights to request a refund instead, after speaking to trading standards I could ask for a refund but it would only be a partial refund due to owning it for 5 months and potentially won't cover the cost of a like for like car.

Not knowing much about cars I looked into replacement engines it seems there are, reconditioned engines and remanufactured engines, two completely different things!

The engine would be remanufactured from Ivor searle (fer approved) with a 12 month warranty, I have also negotiated a further years warranty on the whole car due to my loss of faith in the vehicle and have been upgraded to a ford focus 09 courtesy car.

Anyone have any experience with ivor searle engines?
