Virgin Bundle - can I drop Virgin TV and keep broadband and phone

I have just tried this for Mother In Law who now only has basic TV and box. currently paying c£42 per month. Are you sure the 10mb figure isn't your download limit 10GB?

She has a HD freeview TV and the only things she would miss is the series record (available through a PVR+) and catchup (which she could get on a top range PVR or via her laptop) -low usage.

I know she could get all this for £21pm on TT plus the associated cost of a PVR (Humax or HD Humax c.£150/250).

The retention guy totally trashed TT, which I find unprofessional, rather than selling V benefits.They would only offer the standard phone and broadband for £26pm/ there was no way they would discount the "unused" TV element.

Anyone got any experience of the Humax boxes?

Also anyone know if we do swap to TT whether the telephone number can be retained, TT were suggesting that this would need to be changed on reconnection?

OK maybe it wasn't the exchange, it was some kit locally tt needed upgrading - there is a high demand locally so maybe it is the booster you refer to. As I said we want to stay with cable as we had a bad experience with BT ADSL a couple of year back and BT infinity is not available in our area. According to the comparison sites, only Virgin offers cable locally and the max speed is 10mbs on fibre optic broadband.
