Is this the best deal at the moment??

My broadband deal with Madasafish is about to finish and I've had a look at Sky. After digging aorund n their site I can see that internet, phone and TV are slightly cheaper when bought seperately when compared to the £26 a month deal which doesn't include Talk Anytime:
TV 2 Mixes: £15
Talk Anytime: £5
Broadband Mini: £5 (Connection £20)
Total £25 monthly for TV, broadband and anytime landline calls. (Calls to 10 international destination are free also)
There is also the £55 cashback through Quidco and a further £10 credit if done online from Sky. This taken together with the free Wireless equipment makes it the best deal I can see.
Does anyone know of anything different?

Wouldn't the package be a better deal though for £26.TV 2 Mixes: £15
Talk Anytime: £5 - I thought talk anytime would be another £5 as sky talk alone is £5
Broadband Mini: £5 (Connection £20) it says on sky that base broadband is £40 connection, and is only 2mb monthly usage

For £1 more you get:
tv - 6 mixes
Broadband midi - faster than base (mini) 40gb monthly usage. Activation fee £20
free router
And sky talk - talk anytime would be £5 extra.0 -

As far as I understand it Sky Talk is free for TV subscribers, but I need to pay the extra £5 for all day calls. Making the cost £31. Father in law lives in the U.S., so free international calls is worth the £5 alone.
The above still is a good deal, but the TV deal is secondary to me - my 3 year old has enough to watch with CBeeBies on Freeview!
Guess I will speak with the wife, but cost reduction is the key for me. Just want to get broadband and all day calls for the cheapest possible. The TV is a bonus.
Which ever way I think Sky is the way for me!Giving up is easy...... just keep on trying!0 -
Yes, I am tempted too. On another thread here (sky broadband) someone said that if you go through quidqo you get £50, and on sky.com it states that if you order online you get £10 credit on your account! Could be worth it if it works.0

I looked at this too, but you need a BT landline.
Add another £12 ish to total:think:0 -

Adding line rental to the total for sky package for me would be £37 a month.
I am currently with NTL FREEDOM for broadband and phone (which I have to pay £11 a month line rental in addition) comes to £35.99, and I have sky for tv for £15 a month - a total of £50.99! This means that I would be saving quite a bit by going for sky package.0 -
When I was looking 2 weeks ago, based on my criteria, this was by far and away the best deal for me. I wanted the following as a minimum:
1. An improvement from my 512kb Broadband.
2. A Wireless Router
The following were a deal making bonus:
1. Sky TV - quicker and more channels than Freeview
2. Sky Box functionality (reminders), EPG etc.
3. Free evening and weekend calls
4. 8Mb Broadband with a 40Gb Cap
For me it was a no brainer. It is the first time I have had Sky and as a package it is so good. I very, very nearly went with MadAsAFish - but the price after 6 months (£17.99, and the wireless router cost (£30) made it not quite as appealing as having Sky. For a similar price (£20) I got a Sky box and free evening and weekend calls.0 -
Ordered the deal online last night and checked my Quidco account to see a fresh new £50 tracked next to February! Installation on Friday which is free too. Should get the £10 credit for doing it online.
Looking forward to Sky TV as I've never had it before.Giving up is easy...... just keep on trying!0 -

robindunne1,
Could you let me know how you get on once it is installed, and whether you had problems please? It seems to be fast work if you ordered last night and you should be up and running on Friday - have I got this right? When you ordered the deal online did you need the MAC from your current provider before ordering?
It seems also that the quidco deal is for new customers to sky which is disappointing!0 -
It's the TV that is being installed on Friday. I can't change my broadband over until the 14th of this month which is when my current 12 month contract expires.
Will get my MAC code then and go for the Sky Broadband at £5 a month, and then the TalkAnytime Deal for another £5 a month.
£25 a month all told less the additional kick backs from Quidco. Saving of £20 a month - and I get the TV deal on top! not to mention the Sky box which has better functionality than my current Freeview and the free wireless router.Giving up is easy...... just keep on trying!0 -
Hope everything goes smoothly for you and you don't get any hassle with connection on 14th. It sounds very good to be connected to new provider in just over one week.
Enjoy your sky - I have been with sky for 8 years and found it very reliable, I also (for almost a year) have a freeview tv (which is excellent although at times has glitches) and so have both freeview and sky - I kept sky and I do sometimes record sky and at the same time watch freeview.
I am nervous about switching ISP just in case of problems. I have read many having trouble transferring or having connection and reliability issues. I suppose a lot of it is luck!
Good luck, and if you can give me a feedback of how it goes - I may or may not have taken the plunge by then!0
