I think the answer is no but is there any way of buying apps of android market without a debit/credit card. Stepson getting new phone and has been looking at some apps he wants, they are paid apps and we are not prepared to sign our cards up to an account in case he buys more apps without our permission.

He has asked if he gives us the money can we pay for them for him. Although I have android phone have never paid for an app. Am I right if we enter our details he can then purchase further apps as our details will be against his account?

Is there any way around it ? I have tried lookin to seeifnyouncan buy gift vouchers but cannot see any .

Thanks.

You purchase apps via Google Wallet (previously Google Checkout), so you'd have to associate your card against his Google account to do it. Yes, he'd be able to go nuts unless you made sure to remove your card.

Edit: Unless it allows you to enter the number each time, I can't remember.

Hi, I have just looked in the market on my samsung phone and there are more than 500 free apps ( I stopped counting then ) and if it is a samsung phone
there are free apps from samsung as well, so dont worry about him being deprived by not having the bought apps. He may complain but be strong.

I have a special bank account that contains between £20 and £50 that is used for these type of small payment transactions to limit fraud etc .

Busted a gut last week as after ten billion downloads of Android apps some where on special offer of 10p each day .
    Spent a whole £1 .

why not just get a prepaid card? load a tenner on and let him buy whatever he wants with it.

    something like this
    http://www.mecard.co.uk/landingoffer

Costs £9.99 to buy but you can get £10 added to the card for free, so effectively costs nothing
