Ecofan expert please!

I bought the ecofan from amazon.com about 2 months or so back and it has been working brilliantly. BUT, the last two days when the temperature reaches about 100 degrees, which is when the fan has normally started up, it doesnt move :( The slightest touch will start it moving but obviously this isnt right. Im not sure whether Im imagining a slight wobble when it is going full pelt now either.

Ive given it a wipe over in case dust was causing it to stick or anything and wiped under it where the heat sensor is, but Ive still had to tap the blade this morning to get it turning.

As it came from the states, its not easy to return.

Any ideas please?

Bit of a bummer that fan appears to be playing up. I did a google and found this, UK supplier, but may help?

Thanks welda, bit choked myself as it was fine until this :( I doubt the UK distributor will want to know as it was bought via amazon.com and came direct from canada. Still, can but try, eh? Thanks for the help.

It`s definately worth contacting the manufacturer. If you have your receipt then the may consider a repair to avoid any negative feedback the may recieve on forums such as this. Two months old & failure is not a good recommendation for them.

    Good luck

Well, blow me. I sent an email to amazon asking if they would find out from the manufacturer a remedy and Ive had an email back saying they are replacing it free of charge and to keep the old one! Thats service.

That's why I always shop at amazon if I can over other sites.

This is a very good result, Hethmar. Same reason I use Amazon and Costco, no hassles if goods go faulty!!

Sell the original on da bay, along with a starting handle :rotfl:

I think Id feel too guilty to do that - OH says we can have both going at once :)

Big clap for amazon though - thats what you really call "no quibble". Ive bought a lot of stuff from them over the years. Just got OH an electric shaver on there for a pressie. I did look at other sites and amazon was only a few quid less but its the service that makes it worth buying from them.

Well I never. That has convinced me to use Amazon more. That is great service.
