50% cuts to disabled childrens money

I thought this was worth bringing to everyone's attention, wether you care for a disabled child yourself or not please take the time to read and support.
The Government are proposing/have proposed cuts of 50% to disabled children's tax credits enhancements as part of the Welfare Reform bill.
Every Disabled Child Matters are campaining against this http://www.edcm.org.uk you can sign the petition on there if you fell strongly about this matter.
Families could lose £1,300 a year, this will be such a blow to families already struggling with increased costs due to caring for a disabled child.
Apologies if this is not allowed - linking to the above - but seeing as this will affect a whole heap of MSE'ers with disabled children, and hardly anyone appears to know about it it's very important to spread awareness in as many ways as possible such as forums like Mumsnet, Twitter and Facebook.

December 14th 2011
Campaigners call for clarity on change in Universal Credit policy
The Prime Minister today (Wednesday 14th December) denied that the Government will be cutting benefits for disabled children.
Anne McGuire MP, Shadow Minister for Disabled People, asked David Cameron during Prime Minister Question's about the cut in financial support for families with disabled children that will be applicable from 2013. She asked: "Earlier this week the Coalition Government voted down an amendment to protect the benefits of disabled children by a majority of 2. Can I ask the Prime Minister whether reducing benefits for disabled children by over £1300 per year is something that identifies with his much repeated mantra that we are all in this together?".
The Prime Minister responded saying "We are not cutting benefits for disabled children and actually we are uprating by 5.2% all those benefits so that people will see and increase in the benefits that they receive next year"This is a system account and does not represent a real person. It doesn't.
David Cameron in PMQs last week was asked about BENEFIT cuts by another MP - which he rightly said no, as they are not classed as benefits. They are Tax Credits.
put simply he lied/covered it up on a technicality.
More info just so you know it's not a mistake/misunderstanding on my/their part:

If the proposed Universal Credit comes in tax credits for many disabled children will be cut by 50%, only children receipt of the HRC component will be unaffected.

Also the changes will mean that if you have more than one disabled child you'lll have to choose which disabled child will qualify for disability payments as it will be limited to one per family.
Utter madness.Trying very hard to be frugal and OS - just plodding on and doing my best!

Signed. The insanity of shaving down benefits while giving £25 BILLION (and growing) away to billionaires and multinationals just beggars belief.
