I think I'm probably unusual in that my wife and I have used a combination of Martin's money tips, comparison websites and savvy spending to reduce my outgoings, allowing us to funnel this free money onto our mortgage to create a deflationary economy right in our household. Our mortgage is our only debt and that has gone down by £50k over approx. 19 months so that's deflationary and our outgoings and spending have both gone down, which is again deflationary.
I certainly feel that our family finances are in a deflationary environment right now.
You are not the only one, but you do sound like you are doing well.
I have been asking people I meet have you noticed the global financial crisis affecting your life/job? 100% no matter what their story is say yes.
everyone will have less funds available in the future, cost of living is going up and average incomes are going down for years yet. This is why property is now in a bear market, until the cycle repeats again. But we have to see the bottom first and we will not see this until interest rates are back to normal and all the repossession ahve been cleared out.Big deflation your debts are going up against everything else. I would not like to be a property owner with a big mortgage right now, pay off your debts ASAP!0 -

Hate to break it to you, but that £50K was actual money right?
So what your essentially saying is that paying £50K has saved you money. Even though it cost you £50K. Right?
Don't get me wrong. Overpaying the mortgage is very sensible.
But your "deflationary" spin is nonsense.0 -
Its what is left of the mortage that is soaring in big deflation. To put it simply your house is going down and your debts are going up.Big deflation your debts are going up against everything else. I would not like to be a property owner with a big mortgage right now, pay off your debts ASAP!0

Most people don't consider buying at a price higher than when you joined HPC 4 years earlier a victory. Especially since you blew circa £28k in rent whilst waiting.
I guess maths was never your strong point.
You really do have to love the lengths Bulls will go to....get this...criticise someone for buying a house.
You couldn't make it up.
But it does at least shed light on their vapid arguments, and the true embittered reasons for their posting on forums such as this.0 -
Because it shows you popped in, and decided not to answer. Allowing me to call you on it.

Wasn't this made quite clear?
I made it quite clear that I popped in to see if you had answered my post, the one where I asked you why you cared so much whether people, especially me, believed whether you bought or not. Do you remember that one? I've asked it a couple of times. You haven't answered it, perhaps you didn't see it because you're so slow?I pointed out that you thought it was perfectly adequate when you foolishly "gloated" about a "mistake in the numbers" i.e. first month was a partial payment.
You've mentioned this twice now and I have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. I never gloated about any mistake - you haven't povided any figures to allow me to! I never said you made a mistake in the numbers or anything about your first month's payment being different. You are either trying to deflect, or you are so desperate to call a 'victory' that you are now making up stuff (your usual debating approach as I recall). Please show where I said any of this - put up or shut up.
I said that I would like to see your full monthly mortgage figure so we could:
a) See if they are substantial enough to really be a mortgage.
b) See if they remain the same month after month after month (I also asked you to supply more than the first 4 months worth of payments so we can see the history).
You have declined to show this proof, even though there is absolutely no reason not to unless you are hiding something. You tried to deflect by suggesting we asked for sort codes and account numbers. We are not. Even you are not so slow that you think you can be identified by the payment amount alone (or are you?)I've asked you what has now changed, and you've refused to answer.
I've also postulated that this is because your irrational accusation lying, in the fact if significant evidence, has humiliated you.
So, rather than say, "yep, Geneer bought, I'm looking very silly indeed", you've decided that an irrelevant focus on
exact sums will divert attention.
But it hasn't.
Nothing has changed, I have been very constant in my position. You have supplied no hard evidence to convince me that you have bought in 2009 and kept it secret until 2011 for gag purposes. To summarise the key questions:- Still banging on about the exact mortgage amounts? Why?
- What I have provide is everything but the last digit. This was good enough for you before you dropped a clanger. So what has changed?
- Do you still maintain that I did not buy in December 2009?

To summarise my responses:
I'm still banging on about the mortgage amounts because of the reasons I have already details in this post and in this thread many times. They haven't changed, although I know you hope they will, or indeed you hope I stop asking. Why not give me a good enough excuse why you will not supply the full details?
You have supplied everything but the first digit, you say, but the blanking looks too wide for just one digit. I originally asked for the whole number and summized that you would not supply it. I was correct - you haven't and never will. I have dropped no clanger, much to your annoyance, despite your constant wriggling I have been static and have not budged.
As to your 'cutting to the heart of it'. I do not believe that you bought in Dec 2009 and kept it secret for 2 years. I have always stated on here that your back-story morphs to suit whatever argument you are having, that you change your financial circumstances like the wind and that you are shy about providing hard financial facts because you dont want to get caught in a lie. I cannot make my position any clearer than this and so cannot understand why you even asked this question.
Anyway. Let's forget the mortgage amount, you will never reveal that - it shows too much info. Why not answer the other question you have been avoiding:
WHY DO YOU CARE SO MUCH ABOUT WHETHER PEOPLE, ESPECIALLY ME, BELIEVE YOU HAVE BOUGHT A HOUSE OR NOT?0 -

Can you show that using the absolute science of mathematics?
My details are in my signature.0 -

You bought a house and claimed it as a great victory.
I merely point to the indisputable facts demonstrating your total miscalculation of the market. If I don't reply to your post,
you're probably on my ignore list.0 -
RENOVATION MAN. You appear to have forgotten about our detailed ongoing discussion Renovation Man.
Which is strange, as you appear to be fairly engaged when you compiled your extended essay.
Its very surprising that this would slip your mind as I compile an appropriate response.
Clearly, you've a lot going on, so I have assisted by reposting below.
No need to thank me.

Who was it who said “tangent” and “diversion” and “self aware”. Good lord.
To be crystal clear RM, I don't care much about what my fan club think. I never have.
A big part of this of course is that for the LAST TWO YEARS I'VE BEEN LIVING UNDER A ROOF THAT I OWN.
Something you appear to have difficulty accepting.

Gosh. That being the case, one wonders why you didn't mention this sooner.

Where I gave you enough of the figures to see the consistency, and you chose to repost your quote about wanting to check that I didn't "miscalculate" before gloated LOL! IT GETS BETTER! The clear logical interpretation being that the first number was dissimilar.
Nah I'm sure it wasn't that. Perhaps you can enlighten us as to what this “actually” meant then.
I'm sure the torturous explanation will be as comedic as the reasons you've given for discounting the rest of my evidence.
Really, where did you say that then?RenovationMan wrote: »I said that I would like to see your full monthly mortgage figure so we could:

I have infact provided the proof. though I have elected to keep the full details of my mortgage amount personal of course.
Thats called sarcasm RM. A form of Irony. Oh I have provided evidence RM. Certainly enough to convince the more stable contributors.RenovationMan wrote: »Nothing has changed, I have been very static in my position. You have supplied no evidence to convince me that you have bought in 2009 and kept it secret until 2011 for gag purposes.
You've just come up with ever more elaborate ways of discounting them.
Its clear your on your own with this fantasy.
I mean, when you were typing “your evidence isn't the evidence I would have provided so your evidence doesn't count” did you not even have an inkling that you'd perhaps gone too far.RenovationMan wrote: »I'm still banging on about the mortgage amounts because of the reasons I have already details in this post and in this thread many times. The reason your still banging on about the mortgage amounts is because its the last in a long list of increasingly detailed “requirements” your trying to use to excuse your Epic backfire.
Why won't I give the exact amount? Pop back and review your last 30 or so posts mate, and have a think about why I might not want to hand out personal financial details to clear obsessives.RenovationMan wrote: »You have supplied everything but the first digit, you say, but the blanking looks too wide for just one digit. Wait? What now? Your problem is now that you think the blanking covers more than one digit.
!!!!!!? You've been banging on about wanting to know whether the sums were substantial enough to cover a mortgage, but now your problem is that THEY MIGHT BE MORE THAN £999.
COMEDY COLD!RenovationMan wrote: »I was correct - you haven't and never will. I have dropped no clanger, much to your annoyance, despite your constant wriggling I have been static and have not budged.
Gosh you know I will never supply it. Good for you. Anything to do with the fact that I told you, categorically, from the start that I would never supply it.
You realise its the fact that you have not budged which is bringing the funny right?RenovationMan wrote: »As to your 'cutting to the heart of it'. Well what happened was you appear to have sidetracked and focused on mortgage amounts.
You remember. First you wanted to know they were big enough, though now you appear to be intensely concerned about whether they are higher than £999.
I just wanted to be clear that you were still maintaining your increasingly bizarre denial, rather than just flail around randomly. Thank you for confirming.RenovationMan wrote: »Anyway. Let's forget the mortgage amount, you will never reveal that - it shows too much info.
Probably for the best, now that your back-story has morphed from a desire to know the mortgage amounts were similar, to a desire to know the mortgage amounts were large enough, to a completely irrelevant suggestion that they might be to much for....erm...well you've lost me there.RenovationMan wrote: »Why not answer the other question you have been avoiding:

Oh sorry RM, but I feel I must highlight the fact that you've chosen to focus on another irrelevancy.

Did I?
I rather think I simply confirmed that every embittered jibe you've made for the last two years were as completely and utterly pointless as I've always said they were.
The great victory was repeatedly turning your EPIC 5 year timing game against you and coming up trumps.
Did I mention...Repeatedly. :rotfl:0 -

Wow....
It's like an e-breakdown in slow motion.

Belief in myths allows the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought.”
