have had a slot every sale for about the past 6yrs - actually the first year managed to circumvent the 'invite' by using the suffix codes that were used in the early days of the Next sale, and have then had a proper invite ever since
have never ordered from the directory, other than in the sale
always clear balance
usually order about £500 worth of stuff in the sale and return half of it, as order things in more than one size/length
last sale, i returned nigh on everything - think i kept 2 items
so it seems i dont match up to the criteria they detail for getting an invite

No slot for me.
Have had an account with them for about 16 years now, and in all that time have only once been offered a slot (last year) which was a crap one anyway cos everything had gone.
I order from them probably about once every 2 months and barely if ever return anything!
Nice of them to thank me for my custom hey!0 -
i got a slot
the month of the sale i always make sure i have ordered over £50 and have a payment pending on the account, this has always worked for me and the only time i havent had an invite is when i have ordered nothing that month and have a clear account....this has worked the past 4 years...0 -
i got a slot - order probably about 300 worth from each catalogue and about 200 on each sale depending on what they have. They sent me an email though saying that I wasn't registered on my preferences for sale emails about 2 weeks ago, and i changed my preferences to say I wanted a slot, so that might have something to do with it.
My sister spends way more and has had her account longer and she didn't get one.0 -
Got my slot this morning, 7.30pm Thursday. Spend over £3000 a year and return probably 50 percent of what I order. Not sure credit limit and whether you pay you're account off in full every month has anything to do with getting a VIP slot. I personally think as per credit card companies, they like you owing them money ! Conditions state as long as you've got £250 credit available.
However I didn't get a spring summer preview book this year which is unusual....0 -
some invites havent gone out yet - i just logged using this
https://www.next.co.uk/sale/secure/login/
and it will tell you if you can book a slot. Booked one a few hrs ago and only just (5 mins ago) got my email invite
As long as you fit the criteria you should be able to book a slot
criteria is below

I think the problem this year is that people who don't fit the criteria got the early slots and those of us who do fit didn't get one. I think their criteria is just an excuse and that this year they have given slots as an incentive to people to spend when they usually don't. Just my theory.0

Could be right there....after all for those of us who spend regularly anyway, why offer fabulous sale prices to us ? We're obviously willing to pay full price.0

Got a slot and been a customer for about 8 years, but don't buy loads from them.0

Have you tried the link to see if it will allow you to book a slot? My SIL just rang to see where her invite was and they are sending the out until 10pm tonight..so it may allow you to register if your invite is on the way, so to speak?0
