T-Mobile and Equifax Silly questions
I tried to get a T mobile contract and when in the shop they asked me some bizarre credit/id questions which I would I would only have know if I have my credit file with me! They didn't warn me about this and now I tried to contact equifax but it is impossible.
Also I cant get my report because even as there is a 30 day free trial I don't have any money in my account and it won't authorise the card.
Unbelievable!! Any help ideas very welcome.
cheers

Unless you are trying to wind readers up, if you have no money or overdraft facility then how are you going to honour the monthly agreement?0

Sorry should have explained there is none in there at the moment as it is a new account but will be this week. I have managed to talk to equifax and need to provide more ID and it had nothing to do with the bank card after all which is a bit weird.
I really want to say that without having my credit report with me in the shop I couldn't answer the id q's!0 -

the questions should be obvious e.g. who's your credit card with or mortgage, the point is that people should know the majority of the qs even if not all, you shouldn't have had to take your credit file with you.
Not sure about the TM process but other places accept manual id instead e.g. drivers licenseYes Your Dukeiness0 -
I'd already taken in my driving licence and bank statement and debit card but they gave me a multiple choice question as to what bank I had 'around 'Nov' 2010 and when I answered it correctly they said it was wrong, felt like an exam question.0

, felt like an exam question.
If you don't like it go elsewhere. However you only get that sort of questioning if there has been issues before ot there is something odd in your file such as a CIFAS marker due to past ID fraud.
It may be hard to take but you should be glad they are taking precautions rather than letting anyone claim to be you.0 -
T-mobile did this with me, what phone was it for? Just curious if they do this with all contracts as never had it before.
I did order online, but had a phone call which hubby took when I was at work and I had to ring them back, he wasn't allowed to speak to them. I was told because it was an iphone (3gs though) that they had to get more information to make sure they were sending it out to the correct person named at the address.
I knew the answers to all mine though, it didn't take very long and then once that was done everything was okay to send the phone out.Mummy to two girls: October 2013 and February 20160 -
T moblie did this to me at well and the questions are just normal questions that you should know about your finances.0
