  • Most baby toys can be cleaned properly with hot soapy water.
  • Most things can be cleaned properly with hot soapy water. Don't feel the need to slosh disinfectant around as it's not really necessary unless you suspect the toys are bemerded or contaminated in some way

Is that a word of French origin, by any chance? What a fab word!

Most baby toys will survive the dishwasher, or a sink of soapy water. It's not that difficult.
I agree with this to use dishwasher to wash the toy.
That would be safe for the children.
  • I used to use Milton to clean plastic toys.

Toys such as lego can go in a pillow case or wash bag tied tightly and put in the washing machine - Lego especially comes up a treat!

I was told to put unwashable soft toys in the freezer for 24 hours. The temperature will kill any germs.

If things look grubby I can understand the desire to spruce them up in a sink of hot soapy water. It's worth remembering though, that grubby doesn't indicate germs - you can't see germs. They're everywhere. Toys aren't packaged in a sterile environment and they'll be as much bacteria on a new toy as there will a used one.
