I bought a teddy from a charity shop, unpicked his bottom:rolleyes: and filled part of him with some marbles and those glass beads you put in vases. Sewn back up, he sits and holds the door open and looks a real cutie!

Love the chicken doorstop, I use a cushion too but people fall over it all the time. Think I will make the chicken on but not fill it with rice - don't like the idea of wasting food, maybe cat litter or gravel will be better.:)Clearing the junk to travel light
Saving every single penny.

if you read the thread on draught excluders and making your own they talk about using aquarium gravel. I was thinking that this would be good. I will have a go at making some doorstops later! I really need them!Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx

I was thinking about cat litter too but worried that it might absorb any moisture so perhaps not ideal for my kitchen.................but it should also absorb smells
