Am sure have posted this before, but when daughter was little, she wouldn't eat soup unless it was "creama" (translate as "cream of"). So no matter what soup I made, blasted some to a puree with some white sauce or just milk, and it was creama soup, and she quite happily guzzled the lot.
Have blitzed veg or grated them into stews and casseroles, but you do have to be careful not to get caught out - green bits are a dead give away, so take the skin off courgettes!
Many years ago, having special dinner party, was supposed to have afternoon off work. As it was got home about 45 mins before guests were arriving, still having to shower and dress, give the bathroom a last whizz over, zip over the house with hoover - aaargh! Had already prepared main courses (meat and vegetarian), but had planned on doing elaborate starters and pudding. Had luckily bought some nice crusty bread, so only thing I could think of was to make a quick soup. Baby food to the rescue!
Ice cube portions of various vegetables, some were diced, some were pureed! Threw the lot into pot of boiling water with veggie stock cubes and some dried herbs, sauteed couple of onions in microwave, and then threw in some wine, or did I pour that down my throat? Okay, I did both! Can't believe to this day how well it went down, and some dedicated meat-eaters telling me they couldn't believe how tasty vegetarian food could be!
As for the pudding, it was biscuits and cheese and a defrosted cheesecake. Had plied them all with plenty of wine by that time, so don't think anyone noticed or cared! Never again!

    That made me laugh! LOL!

I actually made some soup for lunch yesterday (he's off school sick bless him) ... roasted pumpkin (squash) and tomato soup ... and I had half a courgette sitting in the fridge looking very sorry for itself (would have thrown it out pre-MSE days!) so decided to give Galtizz's idea a go and grated it in with the rest. Once cooked it was all pureed down but still had specks of green in it. He knows from previous times I've made it that it should be pure orange! LOL!

When asked what the green specks were, I said "oh that must be the coriander" and he ate it all up without another word :D ... well, I didn't lie as it did have coriander in it ... ground coriander :rotfl:

Anne marie you made me winse and laugh at the same time, brilliant I could not have done that I hate cooking for guests and wouldn't have the confidence to chuck a load of stuff together like that. Mind we do have a friend or 2 who are painful.............
