Even better Jaybee!
Thanks Caz2, I will give that lasagne a try. It seems like a lot of tomatoes though. Tins of tomatoes AND passata? Im sure I will love it because I will try anything like this (younger daughter will too) but my hubbie and eldest daughter are very fussy so we shall see how it goes down with them!0 -
A couple of weeks ago I did a huge load of roast spuds, and some stuffing balls. Froze half. Got out the frozen ones today and did them for half an hour in a hot oven, they were lovely;)
Saved time and money by cutting down on oven usage. I ate these with a 'slow cooker' chicken and some green veg. YUM!Member no.1 of the 'I'm not in a clique' group :rotfl:

It is a lot of tomatoes and juice its because the lentils absorb a lot of fluid, substitute with water if you are concerned. It should look thick and mussy at the end. Happy cooking.0 -
Couldn't see this cheat posted anywhere but it's so obvious that I expect everyone is already doing it : Hide veg in mashed potatoes etc. Parsnip can't be spotted at all in a 50-50 mix, swede, buttenut squash & carrots all mix well without being obvious.Post Natal Depression is the worst part of giving birth:p
In England we have Mothering Sunday & Father Christmas, Mothers day & Santa Clause are American merchandising tricks:mad: Demonstrate pride in your heirtage by getting it right please people!0 -
There was a hidden veg thread once, and the technique was used on the Jamie's school dinners programme last week:) Blending a sauce to 'hide' vegetables. I wonder if he visits this site...Member no.1 of the 'I'm not in a clique' group :rotfl:

What's the best way to disguise courgettes? ... despite having eaten them numerous times before (in ratatouille etc) my son is now insisting he doesn't like them!!!
He's not generally a fussy eater, and often puts up with my culinary experiments, plus he knows the difference between healthy and !!!!!! foods, often choosing the healthier option without being asked! He thinks my HM pizzas and burgers are far tastier anyway
I never pressure him into eating anything he genuinely doesn't like but I'm getting a bit frustrated at him turning his nose up at courgettes when I know he's eaten them before"An Ye Harm None, Do What Ye Will"

Courgette grates really easily. If you do it like that, instead of in chunks and put it in something with sauce (like ratatouille) he probably won't spot them. When life hands you a lemon, make sure you ask for tequilla and salt0 -
