Oh, Is that what I did?
Cos I thought I just said maybe, maybe not, depends.

    Live and learn.

Thats what I love about you Rob.
All those great intellectual discussions your one liners generate.

So, it's far better to buy now than in 2007, regardless of the circumstances, but may or may not be better to buy now than in 2009/2010, because that depends on the circumstances.

    Gotcha, that makes perfect sense.

I reckon you could have saved yourself a fair bit of money if you hadn't gone ahead and bought 2 years ago...

I'd hope it makes sense to you rob. You are after all the one who made it up.

As I bought 2 years ago, what you reckon means very little.
Now. Or indeed at any point in the last two years. :rotfl:

Exactly. If you bought in 2009. :D

You are pure comedy, I tell you.

I haven't seen any significant drop in property prices as a whole. Certainly if you're getting 4-5% pay rises house prices have fallen quite a lot, but I'd suggest that certainly isn't the majority. I think certainly in the foreseeable future prices are going nowhere in nominal terms. For people who want a crash only high IR's can really cause this and thats highly unlikely to happen.

What people must understand and it's been made clear over the past few years that so much borrowed money is tied up in houses that anything that causes too many distressed sellers and a market crash would take the banks and so the economy with it. The bank's losses would be crystalised and we just don't have the money to bail them out.

If prices are allowed to crash, the country would go under, simple as that, and that is why everything and anything will be done to stop it.
Have owned outright since Sept 2009, however I'm of the firm belief that high prices are a cancer on society, they have sucked money out of the economy, handing it to banks who've squandered it.

Are you guys still bothering to argue with him?

How can you argue with someone when you can't believe a word they type?

It is of course foolish to be drawn in as we do.
I find it hard to let people spout garbage with no facts to back it up.

Of course in regards to his aquisition a few years ago, congratulations to him and his better half.

Despite his ramblings, someone saw sense

Well now. what did I tell you. lights mea-culpa moment.
Berating himself for "being drawn in".
Exactly as I predicted he would.

:rotfl:You also find it hard to admit your errors.
Hence the painfully extended fall back positions adopted as you realised that, yes, the evidence clearly supported my homeowner status.

    Its very simple Heathcote.

You believe someone if they provide the evidence to substantiate their claims. :D

Of course historically, you've never been all that big in the "substantiating your claims" department, so I can understand you confusion.
