    Oh for pity's sake

    :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

    OK:
    • Yes I was needlessly offended and did not behave in a particularly appropriate manner
    • No you did not 'offer to help me' - you made a couple of excellent suggestions which you then ran with and yes, it did appear to my over-sensitive liitle soul that you had simply taken over the thread
    • As I have already stated (and apologised for) I overlooked the fact that you ran the 2011 challenge; however this obviously makes you feel some sort of 'ownership'
    • I am and always was perfectly prepared to run a proper challenge - but several people on here seem happy, like me now, to tootle along doing our own thing. As Toniq suggested, it is also not the first time there has been a difference of opinion over how it is run.
    • I shall now start yet another post:cool:on the Competitions Discussion thread (where one of the BGs told me I should have been posting all along:o)to try and resolve this. See you there:D

I have no ownership and don't want it I'm actually too busy to run a thread and shouldn't have done it last year but there was no-one else volunteering.

A few people may be happy to 'tootle along' but many others (believe me check the current list) haven't had a say and there would be continuous "is there a 2012 challenge" threads started.

Lets hope you follow your new post through and no-one comes along with ideas that may make your sensitive soul upset again

Oh and just so i cause no offence and can be little old me not meaning to cause any trouble let me add some smileys in there :rotfl::rotfl::beer::j:j

EDIT - Just noticed the irony of being told off for 'ownership' when its your 'ownership' of this thread that caused the problem in the first place!

I know that one year Toni had one thread and I had one in IWIW as a sticky thanks to the BGs, after the original op dropped off running it but people wanted it to run, iyswim. it was hard work to maintain, so hats off to any willing[STRIKE] victims[/STRIKE] volunteers for 2012.

I can't see why there can't be a few different challenges, so would like to thank both Chrissie for bring up the idea of discussing what challenges may run in 2012, and to fortuna for collecting them together in this post.

Personally I love the Olympic tie in challenge myself :)

    Ideas so far:
    £2012 of prizes in 2012
12 months of the year prizes
This will be mine in 2012
Olympics gold silver and bronze prizes
Pimp yourselves in 2012 (pick something to pimp and what you need to achieve that)
Twenty Twelve (20 prizes you want in 2012)
Bingo 12 (prizes set out in a square first to get a line and full house)

    Any more?
I'll pm this to Glad on Christmas Eve for her to set it up after xmas so we can have a fair vote up to new years eve then someone can volunteer their services to maintain the thread
My light may be on, but that doesn't always mean I am looking at the PC - I am far more likely to be cuddling or feeding Tianna atm, so please don't think I am ignoring you if I don't reply quickly :)

whoops, just read this thread more throughly. ((()))

All of our members are valued members of the comps board, and all and any help is greatly appreciated by us all. Sometimes its hard to realise that no intention to hurt was behind the written word, and to take offence, get hurt, when none was intended.

Also I only just realised there was no title to this thread... ??? Maybe you could put a title back on please Chrissie, as that makes it easier when it gets bumped up, or someone runs a search to see if the 2012 challenge is anywhere.

    Thank you, Mamzie, much appreciated:)

I have reinstated the title here and will get a proper poll up later today, if I can. I do have a slightly different suggestion to make but will post it over there.

As far as the rest goes - all I can say is that help offered would have been most gratefully received.:o

It is fairly obvious we are in different places on this matter. I suggest we take it to PMs if there is any more to say, which I suspect there isn't.

I do thank you for all your hard work running the 2011 thread and wish you a peaceful and prosperous 2012

Have just posted this on the Discussion thread but wanted to be sure everyone saw it

I am still half asleep and have to go out in a mo but have had one thought.

Reading the original thread, the first poll is showing a significant trend towards the 'Win £2012 in 2012' option. However the poll is not showing the true picture because I put in on too early and a number of people expressed a wish for a 'tougher' challenge like 'Win 20 in 2012'

Sooo - how would people feel about running (;)) with the Olympic theme?

    Gold = Win 20 in 2012
Silver = Win your own Gold, Silver, Bronze
    Bronze = Win £2012 in 2012

People who really want a challenge:eek: can aim to be an 'Olympic Champion' and do the lot or you can aim for just one medal - or combine two as some of us have already done?

People can let me know which they want to do, I will allocate a number then update as we go?

Anyone who was going to do it themselves (like me:o) can join in with a number when properly set up.

    All comments welcome:)

    See you anon

First off I love the comping board and I am extremely grateful to everyone who posts comps/links/answers. I love my hobby and more so love the amazing treats I get from it. Thank you all :T
I love comping with a theme it spurs me on in the slower months.
Thanks to fortuna93 and chrissie57 for trying to organise us, and setting off a debate. I don't want this board to argue and appreciate it can't please everyone ,we are human and that makes the world go round.
Anyway my own opinion/position is that i have not voted in the poll as I wish that all ideas were included.
The £2012 in 2012 is too similiar to a previous challenge which got a bit too fixated in a monetary way toward the end.
the 12 in 2012 is similiar to eleventh heaven, I didn't do very well in that due to my too high value choices!
I personally would like to explore the olympic theme more as it is current to the year and will not happen in the uk for a long time. But feel is is more difficult to pin down the exact challenge as some might like more than 3 things to aim for.
I think an expanded vote/poll might be fairer but difficult to do now the original poll has been running for a while.:o
Just seen the latest update and I need to think about the latest suggestion. Thought about now deleting above but haven't as it is just my own thoughts. x x

    Hi Chrissie57

Looks like a good idea as well, we could always do this as well as the £2012 that way its more of a challenge.:beer:
    2015 wins £4.00 not mse:(
    2014 £44.00:mad:2013 £83.00 2012 £601.50
    2011 £1554.50 2010 £698.00 2009 £2793.00
    2008 £2816.00 2007 £1034.00
  • HI All

Im happy with whichever goal is decided as I have been a bit lapse with competitions towards the end of the year but have had two small wins - books basically - that have spurred me back into it so this will only help in the long run. x
    Time to find me again

Have to say I haven't voted yet either as I would like a poll which included more ideas. I like the idea of winning the Olympic, but would go with a smallish prize for bronze, medium for silver and one of my dream prizes for gold, xxx
