Hey,
Please take a look at pic, I turned right from green light and passed red light because I stupidly thought those lights applied to the vehicles on the other back side. I already have 3 points so this means I will loose my licence??
OMG....

But I see no camera on lights so this is making me feel very happy
I hope didn't have at that time.

Oh dear! It does look quite clear that the second set of light is a second set of lights, and not the red lights holding the other people back for you to come out of the side street. However, I once went through a red light when distracted as the car in the next lane was veering towards me rapidly and it just turned to red as I went through. The flash from the fixed cameras was so overwhelmingly bright that there is no way I could have doubted I'd been caught. If you didn't see that then it is doubtful you'll have been caught by a fixed camera. The flashes from a mobile camera aren't quite as bright from what I've been told (don't really know as I've never been caught by one) but then I've also only seen those for speed, not jumping a red light.
As far as I'm aware you won't lose your licence with 6 points anyway, just have horrid insurance premiums. I think it is 12 points that you lose your licence though this may have changed I suppose.0 -

depends how long the license has been held, under 2 years and 6pts will get it removed.
a bloke near me once got to something like 18pts but didn't get banned has he told the court if they did he would have to lay off several employees!
cant you drive by again and check if there are cameras there?
you may be worrying over nothing0 -
I have held my licence within two years so if I do receive this letter I will have lost my licence. This country is too strict, there is a) a fine b) penalty points c) insurance premium increase all of this for a genuine mistake not knowing the road?:mad::mad:
My navigation system taking me to bus lane fine, points and premium increase. Why? Just one punishment should be enough to stop driver doing same mistake. Having to be very careful for 2 years is not as easy as expected
Even though I commited these two offences I am not going to say I'm a bad driver, I have C+E HGV entitlement also. It's just such a worry now that I may lose my career over this. Ahh how can I of been soo stupid!!0 -

I don't understand why you would have to 'know the road' to know that red means stop

Well the first three points didn't make you stop making another mistake so potentially the six point rule is reasonable, at least you wont endanger any more pedestrians on a pedestrian crossing for the next couple of years.

Well bad/dangerous/law-breaking drivers get points - good/less-dangerous/law-abiding drivers dont⚠ 2014 - COUNTDOWN TO INDEPENDENCE ⚠0 -
If you have LGV entitlement and have problems understanding traffic directions it may be a good thing that you take a retest! For you own safety and others!
I have been driving 38 years and had class 1 HGV/LGV for 34 years driven 100,000s of miles and never had one point so they can be avoided!;)
Remember its a law of averages we all do things that can gain points, purposely or not, but the more you do the greater the risk of being caught.
Hopefully for you there was no camera there or if there was it was not working. However if nothing comes of it, use it as a warning and take more care!0 -
Hi Karimali831
This is probably more appropriate to the Pepipoo site. Search on the location and see if anyone else has had an issue with positioning of these lights. I cannot tell from the photo but it is possible that the secondary lights you mark in red may be confused with those facing another way. Likewise, the primary lights in your photo do not show a stop line. It is likely you were beyond that line in which case you might have been relying on the secondary light.
The issue is whether the road signs (in this case lights and stop lines) were clear. If not then you need to demonstrate why not. The new plastic ATS seem to get blown out of alignment by the wind or knocked by high sided vehicle. But pepipoo is probably your best bet.0 -

Clearly you are an idiot and not safe to be on the road , you deserve to lose your licence.0 -

You have no idea how to drive on public roads.
How on earth did you get your licence?:(0
