    Wouldn't bet on it.

Recently in my locality, a gang were rumbled who sat tests for others claiming to be them.

Then they are let loose on the road with no idea how to drive, like the OP.
  • Red light cameras look like this

    gatso_rlc.jpg

They are normally set a bit back from the traffic lights that they guard, as they need to include the traffic light in the photo so you can see its red. They take 2 shots so that your speed through the red light can also be determined (and they can catch you if you speed even through a green light).

The little cameras on top of the actual traffic lights are not red light cameras. They are simply traffic detectors for puffin crossings, the same way they are ones which look across the crossing to detect pedestrians.

I have held my licence within two years so if I do receive this letter I will have lost my licence. This country is too strict, there is a) a fine b) penalty points c) insurance premium increase all of this for a genuine mistake not knowing the road?:mad::mad:

My navigation system taking me to bus lane fine, points and premium increase. Why? Just one punishment should be enough to stop driver doing same mistake. Having to be very careful for 2 years is not as easy as expected :(

Even though I commited these two offences I am not going to say I'm a bad driver, I have C+E HGV entitlement also. It's just such a worry now that I may lose my career over this. Ahh how can I of been soo stupid!!

driving less than 2 yrs and a qualified HGV driver ????

As far as I know there's no requirement for someone to have held a licence for any amount of time before doing the C+E. You just need to be 21 years old or over.
  • Too many judgemental people on this thread!

Have none of you ever made a mistake? - I hope you were all caught when you inevitably did.

A lot have Doppler sensor cameras on that read the changing frequency of emergency vehicle lights and change the lights green on approach and red all other ways.

  • Found the location on streetview. If you move on a bit you can see that the red light is another set of lights, clear white line.
Luckily when you look around there is no sign of a red line camera.

the junction is at the join of Homerton road and Eastway, about 400m NW of the new olympic velodrome (not able to post link)

Christ almighty give the guy abreak dont you lot ever make a hash of things i bet your all law abiding motorist that never drift over the limit or push your luck on the approach to a set of lights.
This guy is under a stupid rule if you get 6points under 2 years you loose your right i think thats wrong tell you what my wife worked hard to get her licence probably harder then me seen as i took 5 lessons and had one test in 1986 yet i can accumulate 12 points before im in the doo doo.
Tell you what id love to see your faces if they brought the 6point ruling down to old timers bloodyhell our roads would be a lot clearer!:rotfl:

Doesn't look like a camera at the location when streetview was there!

As for being harsh on the OP, a LGV driver you would imagine would have a higher standard of driving then the norm, or should! He may have received harsh comments but I would not fancy being on the receiving end of a 44 tonne LGV coming through a red light!

As I posted earlier we all do things that could get us points, but the more you do the greater the risk. The OP has 3 and could have received 3 for this within two years. So by the law of averages they must be doing something wrong or they are extremely unlucky and get done each time they do.

Plus if it was me, I would rather poster's here were harsh and gave me stick, then a magistrate in a court. If the harsh comments help the OP to be a bit more careful I think that's a plus!
