hey, the dell laptop is probably the way to go if its just for internet and email use. Can you post the specification here or even which model it is. It may be best to steer clear from ebay when buying a laptop as Dell will offer a warrenty and £350 seems very reasonable._________0

I would suggest the following Dell laptop:
Inspiron 1501 @ £387 has 15.4" screen and a DVD writer for a little more
upgrade the battery to 6 cell
downgrade the warranty to collect and return 90 day
don't buy the case from Dell - shop around
order via Quidco for 4.5% back

Hi - the link didn't show the bits you've changed - but as long as you end up paying about £388 you've done it right.
The battery alteration is free - so make sure that's done (6 Cell, 56Whr Lithium Ion Primary Battery add £0.00)
Another free upgrade is - Dell Wireless 1490 Dual Band 802.11a/b/g 54Mbps Mini-PCI Wireless Card33 add £0.00 - I think this is worth adding.
Dell printers are not a good idea - nor any of the other extras.
Ikea used to do a decent laptop carry case if you've one nearby.
Don't forget Quidco! - worth about £15 cash-back
Any more questions - just ask here!0 -
Don't forget about Dell Outlet:

cheapest laptop is £505 plus delivery (at least £50)
The best deals are their new special offers.0 -

I sell Dells on ebay* and you'll find that they almost all come with the Dell warranty, so there are savings to be made.
*My ID is completely different to this one so I'm not trying to boost my sales

Zappahey,
As I am in the market for a Laptop, can you gave any guide as to the origins of the EBay units. Are they incorrectly specified orders, damaged ex production or ex customer repairs. I have viewed a few on EBay, however, in some cases the models appear old.0
