Have you? Totally irrelevant to OP's journey. It's about platform renumbering at Reading

No need to cause unnecessary panic

I'll go for that, what could go wrong eh :)

Famous last words, we went from x to x, had 15 minutes to catch the connection, within 5 minutes of getting there some idiot pulled the communication chord and we were sat for 12 minutes fuming, and missed the connection by 1 minute.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.

Ah is it talking about the tube transfer? It doesn't know tube times so is just saying get a tube train up to Euston. It shouldn't be offering it to you as a through journey if there is actually 0 mins difference - look how much difference there actually is between the arrival at Paddington and departure from Euston.
I still think this is the case.

Yes, the planner tends to fill the connection time between London stations with the tube journey even if the tube journey will only take half the time available.

Also, OP, as others have said, use Euston Sq tube station from Paddington, it's loads easier than Paddington to Euston.
  • Thanks for your advice guys! :)

Do you think my ticket will let me travel to euston square? I am not sure exactly what ticket I am gonna get as I collect them from the station on the day of departure - perhaps it will just be one ticket, or perhaps it will be separate ones for each bit of the journey.

From google maps if I go to euston square, it looks like I just walk up the street and round to the left, which should be simple...

your underground portion of yoru ticket will let you get off at Euston square as its valid for one journey wholly within Zone 1

It may have been relevant. But why should hardpressed have to find out?

Unless you bought a combination of tickets (which is valid for one journey under Condition 19), you will have one ticket. Unless you are changing trains en-route to Paddington, you will also have one mandatory reservation to go with the ticket (the ticket is only valid if this reservation is held).

The ticket should work the barriers at your origin station, Hemel Hempstead and all stations that are members of London Terminals, plus selected LU stations that are valid interchanges for London Terminals, this of course includes Euston Square.
