I have a suggestion, however. There's an "Enter" button in threads which is very useful, since it reminds us which we've completed. However, as explained in the guides, there are some competitions that just won't interest some of us. For a lack of better words, a button saying "Not Interested" would be useful too, if it displayed a red cross next to the thread instead of a tick. Just a thought.

I am sure loads of us don't even open threads that are of no interest, so we wouldn't even get to where we can click 'not interested'.

We put things like venue and date of events and tags like 'FB' 'twitter' 'survey' 'kids' 'photo' 'effort' in the thread titles so that people can quickly pass by if they are not interested or don't qualify.

I would go with One-eye's post. The "tags" & supplementary info are the greatest help & help us steer away from any threads that are "not for us".

elo, hope this is the right place, soz if it isnt!

just feeling alil disheartened lately...the final straws were 2 comps on a blog. they said the most creative entry wins, and i confess, my entry was rubbish! id read thru some amazin ones, so was really shocked when a random not as creative entry won. when comps want you to create things, poems, vids etc, do you think they actually even look at the entries, or just pick random winners? ive put a lot of work into some comps, and i dont mind being beaten by better, but if theyre not even lookin at ppls work, whats the point?

also, on the same blog there was a comp for a dvd i really wouldve loved. it clearly stated the end date in bold, and said any entries after that time wouldnt be counted...yet some of the winners entered after the close date, one by 3 days! its likely an innocent mistake on their part, im always doin things wrong, but its so unfair to those that stuck to the rules that the comp organisers ignore their own t&cs. i emailed them, heard nowt, and left a nice, but unhappy post, that they deleted.:(

obv lesson learnt, and ive not been back since, but does this sorta thing happen alot? is there owt we can do? thankyou, and sorry its long, its past ma bedtime.:o

    Hi

It's usually posted in the T&C's and sometimes on the MSE post that although they're looking for a creative answer, the answer is picked at random. If this is the case, it's fine to just write whatever you first think of.

I agree about the end dates, but feel blogs and possible facebook will be more lax in these things than official sites - just my opinion.

Hopefully that's your bad luck over and done with and a win is on it's way :)

i hope so, and thankyou!:) ive had one win this yr, a cheese goodie bag, that im still really excited about, but i wouldve hoped for more by now, the amount i flippin do! but then loadsa ppl havent had any wins this yr, so i should count maself lucky!

the blog said they do actually choose the most creative, but they dont, LOL! so just wondered about other bigger companies, like the cashback site vid comp, can they really go thru all the entries?

thanks for the reply, and good luck, hope all ure dream wins magically appear!:)

I've noticed recently that a lot of comp posters don't put the "reg/log in" tag on anymore.

Is this a texting SCAM? Looks dodgy to me.
I would have thought that if it was genuine they would be promoting it on their web site but I can't see anything.
I enter Good To Know comps but haven't received this email.

Had this email a few times now, just deleted it, not paying £3.00 to enter comps that are on here for free lol
Think it's about time the comping fairy remembered where I am! lol

Ironic really. This week we've had one Company complaining that people are selling their prizes and saying that you shouldn't enter if you don't want the prize, now this one apparently offering to enter every competition for you without you even knowing what the prizes are!
