Would anyone be kind enough to advise whether it is advisable to join up to any of the various companies that require a subscription in order to receive monthly newsletters / magazines with comping in mind? Some make out that you will receive exclusive comps only available to those who subscribe.

I have put 'my comps' through a trial run but dont consider it worth paying to continue.

Thanks in anticipation for any thoughts / advise.

I have had these type of mags before and I found that everything in them is already on here anyway :) I wouldn't waste your money on them and just stick with this brilliant site!
Big thanks to all who contribute to the forums. Be lucky everyone and be safe!

Personally I cannot see the point of paying for these mags.Just use MSE :-)
There are more than enough comps on here to satisfy most & I doubt if it is possible to find the time to enter all of them, when the dailies/regulars are taken in to account.
I'd imagine that a lot of these mags just glean most of there comps from here any way :-)

Personally I think this site has enough and misses very little. I've had a couple of freebie trials of mags but I am not organised enough to track the ones I've entered and that is why the site is so good with the 'Thanks' and 'Entered' buttons! I don't know where I's be without them. Also because the site is free if I have a busy month and don't have time to enter lots of comps I don't feel like I'm losing out on anything where as if I paid for anything I would feel like I'm wasting money.
Since starting again after beanie: June 2016: Child development DVDs, Massive Attack tickets. July: Aberystwyth trip, hotmilk nightie. Aug: £10 Hipp Organic vouchers, powerpack. September: Sunglasses. October: £30 poundland vouchers.

I used to have a subscription to one a few years ago before I found MSE. Never won a thing from them yet won plenty since doing the 'free' ones on here :)

Simply done, they run them themselves.
  • Before 'the internet' (yes I am that old!) I had a subscription to a comping mag, loved the excitement of it arriving & going off to hunt out entry forms lol & spent ages writing postcards....aye those were the days.....
But times have changed & I get all the comps I can handle on this site - love it!

    Good luck for 2012 :)

Just to add my tuppence worth, I used to subscribe to a popular comping mag and can agree that most of the comps found in them usually end up on mse anyway. The mag also has a website and I noticed a few people from there posting the comps on here (not hard to spot...very similar user names on both sites or the same avatar!) which I know is against the comping etiquette rules but nevertheless, that was their decision. The only comps that weren't found on mse were some of the ones where you have to purchase an item in order to enter (spends loads of money on something you don't need and keep the receipt etc) and also a few comps that require an entry form but I never found time for any of those rare comps anyway so didn't miss them.

So, I agree with all of the opinions above...stick to mse...why go anywhere else :D

all magazine comps weekly/monthly are always posted first on MSE
then some of them are copied onto other comp sites/mags,
i'm not saying all of them as i've comping mates who do some of the same mags as me but post them on other sites,
but majority of mags that are purchased are posted here first,

stick to here, you'll find all the comps you need & more, rather than paying out for the
likes of Grapevine, simply prizes etc :)
please be a responsible pet owner & spay/neuter your pets, too many strays & not enough homes for them sadly. k2u58ioz4c8e.png
