Just switched to O2 - their mobile phone insurance seems quite expensive @ £7.50/month... can anyone recommend an independant insurer?

cheaps phone insurance i have found has been from talkcover.
http://www.talkcover.com/mobile_phone_insurance.asp
cover starts from as little as £1.87 per month.
I currently have cover through talkcover covering 3 phones for £10 per which is alot better and cheap than Vodafone which were wanting £6.95 per phone.0 -

i only pay £4.99 per month for my insurance with o2 - dunno why yours is £7.50????0 -
Is there any insurer which will cover a decent phone, for less than £5 a month, or less than the above insurer at £5.88? I am going to get an N73 but don't want to pay £5.88 a month. And also I don't want an insurer which inexplicably charges a bigger excess if your phone is 3G capable!
Also the 'no claims bonus' thing is rubbish-they offer a 'free battery' worth '£69' after a year if you dont claim (they cost about £2) and laughably, a 'free upgrade' after 2 years-they basically renew your contract (with a crap deal) and you'd get a phone anyway!!0 -
And don't forget to read the T&C, frankly these conditions stink:Your electronic equipment is not covered for:
1. Theft:
• from any commercial vehicle , convertible or soft topped vehicle;
• from any motor vehicle where you or someone acting on your behalf is not in the vehicle, unless the electronic equipment has been concealed in a locked boot, locked glove compartment or other locked internal compartment and all the vehicle's windows and doors closed and locked and all security systems have been activated;
• if left on any motor vehicle roof, bonnet or boot;
7. The first £25 of each theft or accidental damage claim or the first £50 of each accidental loss claim or the first £75 of each claim which occurs outside the UK , Isle of Man and Channel Islands .
So if you leave your phone in your car and its broken into and stolen you ain't covered unless its locked away (as we all do of course when nipping to the supermarket). And then £50 excess if you loose you phone. Wll my K800i you can buy for £150 sim free so maybe worthwhile0
