I'm back again too...just thinking what else my boys would like - they're 13 and 17 and my DD is 15.
A good head torch (the wind up kind is excellent)...good quality gloves...beanie hat if he's that kind of kid...a couple of small cat toys if you think he'll enjoy spending time with your kittens...and maybe some daft little games which the kids could all play together at your house over Christmas or at school when he goes back.
A tiny radio (maybe the waterproof kind for the shower)?
Undies in bright colours or with cartoons on them?
And maybe a home-made make your own cake/cookies/brownies kit...a good solid cake storage tin, containing the essentials for making whatever it is, and the recipe written or printed out and laminated - then he could have a shot at cooking either at your house or back at school, either by himself or with your DDs or with school mates. Just thinking this might help him feel at bit more "at home" to have this to do, either over Christmas or when he's boarding again. Then the finished product can be stored and transported in the tin, and if it doesn't last until he goes back to school, he'll still have the recipe card and can make another batch...

    Morning all!
Long story but we have 'aquired' a lovely 13 year old lad for the Christmas period and I would like to make him a really personnal Christmas gift box to unwrap but I'm not sure what 13 year old lads are into!
He's a bit sporty and goes to competitions a lot so I have started the box off with some Kendall mint cake and a really nice bar of body/hair shampoo but now Im stuck!
Would like to spend about £25 in all on quirky/trendy/entertaining/thoughtful trinkets - please could anyone better at this than I am make a couple of suggestions?

    Thanking you in advance.

This made me smile, my Mum had a habit of acquiring children - it would seem that her own 7 was never enough!

Good for you for stepping in to make his Christmas special - I only popped in as I have a 13 year old boy to buy for and I was stuck for ideas :rotfl:
