Another busy day, but its nearly the weekend, soooooooo ready for a nice lie in.
Have had a NSD today, took lunch to work and kids are on packed lunches all the time now so no school dinners to pay for:).
Easy tea of beans on toast tonight as we are going to look at a secondery school for DD, can't believe how time has flown, doesn't seem 2 minutes since I was taking her to nursery:(.
Have redeemed £20 from r£warded opini*ns, take 2-4 weeks to hit paypal though. Have decided I need to overpay Tesco CC as i got a nasty shock, there is about 6500 on the card:eek::o:mad:, been paying the minimum payment of £130 every month by DD and not looking at the statement properly:mad:, I've been paying around £90 a month in interest:mad:, god i'm so stupid and I can't even do a balance transfer or apply for another card as I knw I will be declined, so all overpayments are going to this, NExt will have to ttake a back seat for a while.
Right off to make tea.0 -
Been having a good think about things over the past few days and how i'm only 6 years off being 40 and the fact i've in and out of debt (mostly in) since I was 18:eek:, this is ridiculous and so much money has been wasted on interest payments that I really need to get a grip and sort it out, we as a family can't go on as we are and I want to be able to have a better life, that is what are move was about, so now we need to do something about it.
I did think about starting a fresh diary but thought no I will continue woth this one for now, so now for the figures, brutal and honest and no hiding behind OH and thinking wel thats in his name so not my problem, of course its my problem, we are married and we share everything, so stupid of me.
The grand total of debt without mortgage is..........................
£18650.51:eek::o:mad::(.
So there it is in black and white, no hiding, no escaping or denial as its not in my name.
As i mentioned in my previous post Tesco credit card will be first on my new hit list, three quartes of the payment every month is being eaten away in interest:mad:.
So as today was the first day of kicking myself up the backside and getting into gear, So I have made a pan of HM tomato and lentil soup, we had this for lunch. MIL sent eggs from their chickens:) so DD has made cupcakes this morning and we are having egg and chips for tea, with fruit and icecream for pud, so not needed to buy any groceries today, OH spent £20 on DD riding lesson and I sent him to the Post office to pay £10 off Post office CC, minimum was £9 so I rounded it up;).
DD told me at 8am that she had a huge hole in her riding socks, so told her to wear her walking socks, went on amazon to order new riding socks, had £6.50 in vouchers, ones DD reallllllllllllllllly wanted and just had to haaaaaaave muuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuum (said in whining voice) cost £8, bad mummy dug her heels in and said she could have up to £6.50 or nothing, eventually she choose a pair for £6, £6 for a pair of blinking socks:eek:.
Now we are moved i'm signing up to freebies using new address and OH email address;):D, revieved sample of coffee today.
Now for a rant, not that there is much point because he has done it and I know he was only trying to be helpful but:mad:. OH last night OH went to our old house to do some jobs to get it ready to rent out, now I had left a large box of items in our old room, it contained some kids toys, ds games ,clothing and a few other bits, all of which I was planning to put on ebay closer to christmas, I left them at the old house so the kids wouldn't go routing through it when we moved and then would end up claiming things back even though they didn't play with them/no longer fitted, any way today at lunchtime OH said to me " I nipped to the skip last night with some rubbish from the garden so i took that box of stuff for you that you had left" I said " what box of stuff", yes you can guess how the conversation went and the language that came from me:mad:, god sometimes I could quite happily kill him, but hey ho its done now and I can't do anything about it.
Right i'm gong to go and do some surveys and superpoints and see if I can make a few more pence.0 -
Hi Pennywise,
I'm sorry that you are having a hard time with the level of debt and interest. Has your DH tried applying for any 0% deals that you could transfer any balance to?
Grrr to DH binning your items that were meant to help out, if its any consolation, my DH would do the same as well.
Take care xxx0 -
Oh Penny, sorry about the box, but when you get the house rented that will make big inroads into the debt, so try and focus on the bigger picture xx
Thanks for the PM.
Freezing here, lack of blubber is to blame!!
Put on the heating tonight and it's not working, so don't know if the pump is knackered or if the oil has run too low. Can't order any till mid-week when DH is paid, aaarrgghh, did you say you had a house to rent!!!Weight: need to lose 71lbs - lost to date 0lbs
One Poll: £3.20
My Survey: £0.00
Ebay: £0.000 -
Hi pwps
Keep your chin up your doing finewe all have times where we feel like we aren't getting anywhere, I have 2 smallish debts a phone contract and HMRC and which will be repayed by the middle of next year this will free up around £50 per month to go towards the credit cards, as long as you have a plan and are doing something about it, the problems start when you go into denial.
Shame about the box but like you say OH was only trying to be helpfulright best get moving got cleaning and washing to do then some ebaying once OH is awake, take care and have a good day everyone xxx

Morning Pennywise,
Sorry youve been feeling a bit down but well done on writing everything down to start knuckling down again.
Well done on sticking to your guns with DD, they are so good at making us feel bad though arent they!
OMG I would have been soooo mad at DH too, he thought he had the best intentions. Never mind its done now, try not to get too stressed over it!
I love hearing about when your all organised and you making your puddings/soups etc! Keep it up xxMummytogirls x0 -
Choogirl - the 0% card thing is something we need to look into.
PWD - You made me laugh, the house to rent has gas central heating, oh the luxury:rotfl:. Freezing here as well, gone from living in a semi to a detached and i'm sure having someone living next door made a difference with heating.
Bella - lovely to hear from you, you have reminded me that I also have the tax credit debt that I'm paying off monthly:mad: b*ll*ks need to update my debt in my sig now, hope it doesn't take me over the 20k mark:eek:.
mummy - thankyou for the lovely post, DD is in another strop with me because I refused to make her breakfast until she cleaned out her guinea pigs, now she has been going to do it since Friday, its been done now and she is sat eating porridge.
So today is a quiet one at home, have lots of washing to do, windows to clean as well (just downstairs).
All had porridge for brekkie, nice and warming and lunch is soup from yesterday, making spanish pork for tea, not sure what it will be like sainsburys had some colmans and swartz mixes reduced and one was for spanish pork, will give it a go, its one where you chuck it all in a bag with the mix and whack in the oven, nice and easy, also making a syrup sponge for pud.
Nothing else to update, hope everyone has a good sunday.0 -
Have checked how much I've paid to tax credits and I currently owe them £1092, I've updated sig, Debt now stands at ....................
£19742.51:eek:

Gosh its so cold today, i'm wearing a big knitted jumper and still feeling cold:(, have popped the heating on for half an hour at least it will be warm when the kids get in from school.
Spends today have been £15 on petrol, I hope this lasts me until Friday.
Friday is payday, so i'm planning on filling the car up with fuel and doing a big shop. Also at the opticians and I know my eyesight has got worse, hopeing the glasses I have will be ok as I wear contacts for 99% of the time, occasional use my glasses if my eyes feel itchy/tired.
Have done surveys in my inbox, need to check onepoll and do superpoints yet, will do that whilst making tea.0 -
