The question should have been "who arranged the hire car you had?" (Who told you you wouldn't have to pay for it?)
Helphire, who have been dealing with my claim on belhalf of my insurance since I called my insurance company.

In that case, your insurer should be in pocket, not out of pocket thanks to your misfortune - as HH will have paid them for passing you on to them!

    Sounds about right!
I just pray it goes my way in the end or I am really going to have to consider giving my car up :(

My partner managed to write My car off, With HER car on the driveway.. She reversed into it .. quite quickly and smashed the side of it up.. i was in another country at the time.
I reported it to my insurance company, She reported it to hers.. She obviously admitted liability.. - Still took them 8 weeks to say it was her fault..
I was more than happy.. it was a 1000 pound car, and they gave me a brand new Volvo V70 R Design to thrash about for a couple of months :D
    Almost..debt free.. :P:money:
  • Spoke to them today as I received a letter.
The man I spoke to actually did something rather than telling me to wait!
He said that they had sent the payment as non predjudice, so basically they can then ask for the money back!
So he phoned them for me and phoned me back, they are having trouble getting any sort of contact from their client, that is why it is in dispute, so basically it could go on for ages, he did say though that I wont have to pay any money back.
So seems like it's still a waiting game.
The only bit of good news is that a cheque for £44 is on it's way to me as that was what they took off the settlement when they shouldn't have.

    Not really.

"Non prejudice" (usually "without prejudice") is a regular device used in correspondence, at it is used by the sender as a legal heading meaning the letter cannot be used as part of a court case.

And often when they pay up, insurers will say they are paying without admitting liability!

So wouldn't worry they will want their money back!
  • Just thought I would update.
My renewal is due tommorrow and I was going to have to take my motor off the road as I couldn't affors the £1k premium due to liability still being an issue.

So I just called my insurance company, they still have not had any reply from the 3rd party insurers and the lovely man literally just closed it off and re-instated my NCD! by lunch time tommorrow, I am so pleased! He said he's made an executive decision to do it, I don't care what it is I told him I could of kissed him! :rotfl:
Now my premium is going to be just over £300 :D
