Are you happy with the cheque amount to cover all expenses and to forget about it and move on?

If so just cash it and contact your company and say close the claim they settled? Or are they looking for
    payment for their own costs?

Liability is in dispute because they wont accept liablility but they paid out which says it all really.

Well apart from the £40 they took off becuse my car was a previous write off, which shouldn't of been taken off as the valuation given took that fact into account, which my inusrers say they are going to chase up, I have had no expenses, only inconvenience which is not an expense just a pain in the proverbial!

My insurance company haven't settled anything, the 3rd party sent me the cheque, I cashed it and bough a new motor already.
The 3rd party would at best need his passenger side door replacing, so maybe they are trying to dispute it so they don't have to pay?

I have no idea if they are chasing costs, I had a hire care for 3 weeks, so not sure if that makes any difference.

It's just the uncertainty of it that is driving me mad, if it goes my way my premiums will be about £25 a month, if not, it looks to shoot up to at the very least £80 a month!

I think that could be the main reason.

Write to them, asking for the reason why they don't accept that the third party has already accepted liability.
If they do not give a reason, refer the complaint to the FOS and ask them to pursue your insurer to close it as a no fault accident.

    Ok thanks.
The thing is there is just shy of 1 month to go on my current car insurance premium, I certainly wont be staying with them regardless of the outcome.
I will call them again tommorrow, and email and see what they say.

Who paid for the car hire you had?

(If it was supplied by your insurer, then they won't close the case (and reinstate your NCD) until they are recompensed by the third party in full for all their costs)

Writing is the only real way to get a response, anything else they can ignore.

Ok thanks, stands to reason really, every time I have phoned half of the people I talk to don't seem to know much?!

Wish I hadn't of bothered claiming now!

The question should have been "who arranged the hire car you had?" (Who told you you wouldn't have to pay for it?)
