Offer of £250k refused so whats next??

    I dont think the owners are being greedy if they looking for 275k for a house they paid £285k for, whether they get it or not is another question, personally I hope they do, it must be gut wrenching buying a house and than having to sell it at a loss :(
  • If I were selling a house for 285k in this market, I would expect offers at 250k. When the first offer for 250k came, I'd probably automatically reject it and see what they came back with. If no increased offer, one can always go back and accept later (risky game if they're desperate to sell of course).
    Wait a few weeks or months. Probably if they get no interest during the main selling season (spring) then you'll have more chance.

    The vendors may be thinking that it has an awful lot of interest, not realising that it was negative interest. That may be why they're holding out for more?
