Best washable/ disposable breast pads while breastfeeding

I've been using Lansinoh disposable, now they've almost finished, while i'm at home i started using really thin washcloths folded into 4, but they leak so.i've been reading online abt different breast pads but the reviews are so controversial. can you share your experience ,please, for leaky breasts. TIA

At home and especially in bed when i leaked prolifically i used hand towels cut into squares, they are very absorbant, cheap and comfortable and you can use a couple if leaking a lot or just one if not.
I would however always use disposable ones when out and about i found the asda angels ones very good xx

My mum made some for me out of some old towels. I used to use one disposable pad, with a square of towel behind it (because the disposable ones weren't enough on their own, but I didn't like putting the towel direct against my skin because bits of thread would embed themselves into my nipples).
  • I used the Tommee Tippee disposable ones. I thought they were fab - although I dont think they are very MSE :p. Tried to stock up when they were on offer.

I used to use flannels folded into 4. I've not even taken them out of the box yet, but Boots gave me a freebie of some nipple shells that seem to collect milk, might be an idea for wearing for short periods at home? Dunno anything about them really though :D

I think I used the boots own brand washable ones which were good and lasted me about a year - have finished with them if you want to have them PM me - if you'd rather not have second hand ones I'm not offended
  • I use the Johnsons ones (pink box) and I've never had any problem with them :) x
  • I heard the ones you're using already are good ones. But I bought the Tommee Tippee ones based on reccomendations and just look at the size of em!

I used to sell them ages ago along with cloth nappies but gave up, so my information is probably out of date, but maybe worth a try.

Kushies used to make some out of flanelette which were quite nice. I think they came as a pack of 3 pairs. PHP Baby were the main suppliers of them. There are people who work from home who make them, so you could try the WAHMall website (stands for Work At Home Mums...) - there is a UK one.

Finally, I have 2 former colleagues who still sell cloth nappies. If you don't mind, I'll send you a PM with their contact details as they are better informed than I am. HTH

I found lillipadz to be great, they are sticky silicone pads that stick to your boob and the pressure keeps the milk in rather than soaking it up. they are pricey (£15 when I bought them a few years back) but you only ever need one pair. They are better for when your milk supply has settled down a bit, I did have them pop off a couple of times in the early fire hose days but then I did have a REALLY overactive letdown and oversupply, at one point holding my arm out in front of me (and thus barely touching the boob) had me soaked to the waist!
