They go via the old HDNL network, currently backlogged. Theyve suspended all guarenteed services and Collect+ is running slow.

Slow barely covers how tardy this is now becoming. The item was dropped off on the 10th December and hasn't yet left the county, at this rate of progress it won't arrive before Christmas- hence me having to refund

CEO of YoDel ("YOur DELivery") has an article in the business section of Mail On Sunday today. He reckons that, wth 17% of the market, they are the UK's second biggest domestic parcel service behind Royal Mail. (who, IMO, are equally crap at delivering stuff!).

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/money/news/article-2075551/INTERVIEW-Stand-shoes-iPads-says-Yodel-boss-Jonathan-Smith.html

"Yodel was created in April 2010 when the Home Delivery Network, owned by the brothers David and Frederick Barclay, acquired DHL Domestic. Yodel has still to make a profit, but Smith hopes this will change during the next financial year..."

‘We try to sort out any issues – and there are bound to be some when making millions of deliveries,’ he says. ‘I sometimes make personal calls to customers making complaints to find out for myself how we can improve service."

Reckon he's gonna be pretty bloody busy on the phone, at this rate!!

  • Yodel made 1 million deliveries last week 775,000 were for the Shop Direct Group. Im sure they will have a few issues.

A few issues doesnt even begin to cover it! Ive been waiting for my parcel for the past two weeks, after they claim to have tried to deliver it, no card was left, I only found out after I chased the company I ordered from to find out where my parcel was. The call centre personnel are rude and unhelpful and I will not be ordering from a company that uses Home Delivery Network/YODEL again!

    Yodel are turd.
  • Maybe you would like to spare a thought for the thousands of HDNL/Yodel staff who face being made redudant straight after Xmas. The company has merged with DHL and the transition is causing a mountain of problems. Bear in mind its not the workers fault but the management. I am a bit annoyed at some of the comments on here since my husband works nightshift for the company and has worked every day since beginning of October to try and get the parcels out for Xmas, all the while, knowing that he will be out of a job soon enough. There are no jobs in this area so he is having to get up at 1am every morning and work like a trojan till 11am to get your parcels out. Too many parcels and not enough staff. Welcome to the recession!

Yodel are rubbish. Delivered a parcel from Amazon where there was someone in all day but still delivered it between two rubbish bins and online marked it as a "safe place". Lucky it did'nt rain and it was spotted.

Where I can in future I will check which courier a firm uses and avoid Yodel if at all possible.

  • I had three different Yodel couriers to my address yesterday. Granted, the parcels were all from different companies but when I checked on the tracking details, all were processed through the same delivery centre at around the same time. I'm not sure how the process works there (and I understand there must be thousands and thousands of parcels) but surely, it would have been more cost efficient to put all three parcels on the same van.

The last one arrived at 6pm but the courier said he had tried to deliver earlier at 3pm, 3.30pm and 4.00pm but we wern't home. We were in all day yesterday and no card was left!

My OH works for a courier firm, its true they are totally snowed under. Today hes got 128 stops thats includes nearly 200 parcels. He leaves home at 4am to get to the depot and then start his round, please bare in mind these drivers. Often its not there fault its the company who you have ordered from who have failed to send out the item due to them waiting for an impending stock delivery.

And please can everyone stop asking whats in the parcel when he turns up. He doesnt know its a sealed box/package and the only info they have is a name and address - postcodes are very handy for the satnav!!

My parcel still hasn't been delivered to my buyer- Collect Plus has had it now since the 9th December.
