Snow clearing appeal

Definitely far too close. I think this is the crux of the issue if you think snow will come off the car in front and hit you drop back until it is not an issue. You can actually drive with reasonable speed in icy and snowy conditons if you keep clear of other vehicles.
So if you are worried about this get off the bumper of the car in front.0 -
You can get brushes on poles to clean snow off or just get a normal soft brush but only use that for snow not sweeping the path (grit)
You must have to clean the top of the car every now and then. I doubt a defence if snow falls off and hits some one that I cant clean snow off as my vehicle is too large0 -
Hardly a problem for following vehicles the miniscule amount of trapped ice or snow on a car or 4x4's roof...even if the 4x4 driver hasn't the nous to stand on the side steps or even the kick step with the door open to reach the roof.
Follow a truck though and there might well be chuncks of ice up to 8ft wide, several inches deep and several yards long coming off, quite how they are supposed to clear it is another question entirely if they've been parked at a motoway service area or more than likely in some godforsaken layby all night.0 -

^^ This is the only one that can land you in trouble
The last 3 points are nothing more than advice.....
Let's get this straight, im not advocating being lazy and not cleaning your car of snow.... But im just trying to be realistic.
So be realistic about the charge of driving without due care and attention which can see you prosecuted in court for all sorts of things that aren't a 'MUST' in the highway code.0 -

I don't clean my car, it gets valeted/full clean once a month (mianly due to me not being able to reach) However, if we get heavy snow fall I will be sure to check if it is going to be a problem (only had it since Feb this year)
Who dam well said rich !!!!!, sorry Lisa twassn't I,
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -
This comes up every year, and every year I think "how close do you drive to the car in front to be at risk of falling snow?"0

Are people so lazy they feel the need to defend not clearing snow off their car? What's the problem with just doing it?0

Nothing it takes a few minutes at most for most cars. Its bad enough driving a car when suddenly a load of snow hits your screen imagaine how bad it is for a motorcyclist/cyclist gets hits by a lump of hardened snow/iceglasgowdan wrote: »Are people so lazy they feel the need to defend not clearing snow off their car?
