Hoping some knowledgeable folk here can help.
I've just gone from Sky's 3.5mb to Virgins fibre 30mb service and, general browsing has gotten slower? My PC is top spec and clean as a whistle so i know its not that. But it's really slowed down! The service has been in for a month today by the way, so it's not the first 10 days thing.
Downloads are quick as you like (although i was getting 400/600kb/s originally anyway).
Speed test shows 31mb down, 3.1mb up.

Could be a slow DNS. Try both of these, which is quicker at loading the BBC News page?

Note the difference - is it significant as in seconds. If my post hasn't helped you, then don't click the 'Thanks' button!

It's only fibre up to the street mux/DA & from then on to the street cabinets then onto your home it's copper COAXIAL cable for the BBand/TV.Damaged cable, poor F Connections,Faulty Isolators & poor signal levels can cause your service to run slow or even drop off.
If your download speed is what it should & it looks like it is but your upload speed is slow, then it's more likely a return path issue. An check of the signal levels & adjustment with a return path equalizer or attenuator should fix it,but you need a VM service tech to check that.0 -
Good place to start is by reading the first 3 articles from the link below

I'll read and take into account all of the above.
Regarding the two website, both took unfortunately around 1.5 seconds to load. It used to be instantaneous. That isn't much of a difference by comparison to some websites and responses im getting.0
