A NSD for me today - don't know how long it's going to last though.
This week my aim is not to go food shopping. I went yesterday and bought sufficient for the week and I am going to make it last!0 -
My budget was £7 (for personal spends) - spent £6.70! This week I will need a few bits of fresh food so will have a £10 budget - want to avoid spending it though as it is in £2 coins in my purse and any I don't spend can go in the £2 coin bank!
I don't include bills or fuel as have other budgets for them. 0 -

Another question from me - as a relative newbie to this forum - when people go underbudget do they generally then put this back into current debts, or is it purely used as a 'management' tool? Or is that extra surplus added up and then used as a treat?
I personally am using it as a bit of the first two. Seeing stuff in writing always makes me more definite, and from this week I am going to use my Work Diary to record details so I can keep it accurate and keep myself within my spend.0 -

Good question! As far as I am aware this challenge is used as a management tool. For me because my overdraft is massive, anything under budget for me is a few quid off my overdraft so it all helps.
However other people might like to do something else with any money they have saved, I guess it is all personal choice.
But a fair question I have to say - and a good one!Bank Balance: In the black for the moment.

hiya boss... i usually put anything i have next roll it over to the following week... so for instance this week i only have to get £5.76 out of my bank... this means at the end of the month the amout in my spending account is much higher and can be transferred into savings (well my debt now)

Hi all... Was gonna have a NSD today, but manged to spend £230!
I don't feel too bad, it's gone on a hamper of re-usable nappies for my impending bambino. To make it better, after reading thru a lot of threads last night, I discovered QuidCo, registered and found what I was looking for thru one of their partners, so I can earn cash back on my £230... AND I bought it for £70 less than it is in the shops!!
The icing on the cake was when I phoned my Mum to tell her how chuffed I was at my MSE-fuelled find, she said she'd put a cheque for £100 into my account. God bless the bank of Mum (soon to be Nan!)'We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars' - Oscar Wilde0
