Do promo CDs & vinyls sell well on Ebay?

Morning
I have more than 100 Cds & vinyl records that are predominately promo copies because of my work.
They are basically taking up valuable space in my small home so I'm wondering whether it is worth flogging them on Ebay.
I have noted CDs are being sold for pennies online so I am considering if it is worth the time and effort, plus greedy Ebay fees, to list them.
What do MSers think?
Thanks

I sold a load of Motorhead promos and averaged about £20 per CD and £30 per vinyl. However, you have to be careful when listing promos. Although not strictly banned by ebay, if the artist or their management contact ebay, the listing will be pulled. With all of my dietary restrictions, I'm left with lipstick and water0

Oh really, Even though it is old stuff?
I had a promo book pulled before because I listed it before it was officially released but can they do that with old stuff?
The music I have spans back up to 10 years ago!!Third time lucky on WW I hope :j

It really depends on the artist or the people behind them. Most really don't care but some just like to make life difficult for fun. I was forced to remove one item that was a couple of years old (and was even threatened with legal action by the manager of the band involved but I stood up to them and nothing ever came of it). I figured the (male) manager was having hormonal issues that day...With all of my dietary restrictions, I'm left with lipstick and water0

I sold a load of promo CDs and PS2 games recently - got about £50 for the lot, but I did them in two bulk lots rather than listing them all individually. I explained in the auction listing that I used to be a buyer for a major retailer and these were given to me by the companies' reps. Didn't have a problem and I had titles from Sony, Warners, Universal, Eidos - most of the big names.

Update: I had one listing removed 45 minutes after i listed it.
It was a Chas & Dave CD so you'd think they'd be chuffed somoone actually had one in their possession.
I got the standard incoherrent one-sided waffle from Ebay:
Dear ******,
Thank you for your recent auction-style listing on eBay. Unfortunately, these items breached one or more of our policies and had to be removed from the site: 230088026156 - CHAS & DAVE - GREATEST HITS
Your eBay fees for this item have been credited to your account and all bidders on this item have been notified of its removal.
Why was your listing removed?
You may not list unauthorised copies of media on our site because selling them is both illegal and against eBay policy. Unauthorised copies include (but are not limited to) backup, pirated, duplicated, or bootlegged copies of software, video games, music, films, television programs, and photographs.
We appreciate your membership of our community, so please keep in mind that repeatedly listing items that breach our policies may lead to the suspension of your account.
Et al.
So the reason why my listing was removed is as clear as mud!! :mad:Third time lucky on WW I hope :j

Hmm... So someone reported you for selling a bootleg. You should ask ebay to clarify their position. With all of my dietary restrictions, I'm left with lipstick and water0

Chas and Dave not allowed? Goodness gracious..was there any reason to suspect this was a bootleg or have they just made a wrong assumption or police the site for good taste now :rotfl:

I sold off my Guns n Roses vinyl collection on ebay.
Its a bit of a hit n miss. You wont get the kind of money a trader at a record fair will get but depending on the band you can get decent money i guess.0 -
It's a tricky market, and I guess they treat them as counterfeit.
Which doesn't help you sell them!
Did you call it "promotional copy"It's BOUGHT (to Buy), not BROUGHT (to bring) AND you cannot be frauded, only DEfrauded.
Please do not buy animals from a pet store. Visit your local sanctuary or centre and give a good home to an unloved or abandoned animal.0 -
