Just seen this next to the 'thanks' button. What is the purpose of it? Does it serve some advertising function which links from other sites to this one? Seems a bit superfluous to me.

Well, it allows people visiting those boards to see what other people think are the best deal/grabbits/freebies etc.

And it now feeds into this.

But yes, it's one of those things which people either find a great help, or just an irrelevance, depending on what exactly you are here trying to do with your money.
