Morrisons BOG2F pringles £2.49 so they have priced them up to begin with at poundland and Tesco today better than half price £1 so theoratically Morrisons are not at all giving you the marvellous deal they say and if you wanted to buy all three together would actually be saving only 51p:eek:
\Morrisons the other week BOG2F on 4 cans of pop, so £1.99 for 12 cans poundland and the 99p shop do them all the time so £1.98 for 8 cans and yes you do get 4 cans free not 8 cans.
Tesco half price turkey was advertised and picked up on the papers for being half price at £25 when even at that price some other supermarkets were cheaper (Tesco did say they had it at full price in the months of august and september)
Carte noire coffee at Tesco 100g jar £2 200g jar £5. something so bought 2 lots of 100g cheaper than the other way , realised it was a great bargain them went back to get some more and it had gone up 200g £6.48 and 100g £3.48:eek:
Poundland today used to do weight watchers baked beans 2 for £1 now changed it for 3 for £2 when I questioned it he said well Tesco do them for 70p so you are saving 10p:eek:
There are many more I could list but too fed up to do so:rotfl::rotfl: even poundland are letting me down in prices now:eek:

You need to pick and choose.
Pringles at £2.49 is a very silly price, you can always get them under £1.
I never used to pay more than 79p for Pringles, but 3 for £2.49 is acceptable I suppose (83p per tub).
12 cans of pop for £1.99 was a great bargain I think. Not often you will get that price now for branded drinks in a can.
Morries seem to be promoting quite a few BOG2F deals and the J20 was also a decent deal - 12 bottles for £3.59.

I know what you mean it's so frustrating having to continually cross compare as all the deals seem slightly tainted, it's becoming too much like hard work to suss it all out but also necessary.0

The J20 was indeed a best buy but they had none at morries at all and no chance of anymore coming in so fruitless chase and Sainsburys had them at 2 for £5 so called the SA over to discuss with her if they honour the price and the lengthy answer was no, they don't so back to morries I went and none left:eek:0 -
I know what you mean, until a couple of months ago I used to buy packs of rolls for 35p, they had been that price for a long time. I bought a pack on a Saturday, for 35p, then the next day noticed they had gone up to 75p, but were on BOGOF.0

I also saw jus-rol pastry blocks today, 500g blocks at half price, down from £2.50.
The same blocks are only £1.10 in Tesco, normal price.0 -
I think it would help everyone if you went in to (any) supermarket aware that they are trying to rip you off anyway they can. Therefore the extra effort of knowing the average genuine price of an item elsewhere is always necessary. Sure in the example above only 4 cans of pop not 8 were free, but it was still a good price so worth buying IF you needed 12 cans or would not be tempted to drink them all at once. Poundland is good value for some things only and not others, so again you have to know the average price.
If you can't spare the time or effort to price compare, then you will have to pay extra for your groceries for the convenience.
Be philosophical, its not worth getting annoyed, supermarkets animal instincts are to make as much money as possible and MSEr's are the prey - you have to outsmart the predator.0 -
Sainsburys don't do BOG2Fs often. What happens is a customer buys just 2 of these. I explain to customers that it WILL be cheaper to get another one. Then we have to grab another one.
I remember with the Pringles deal earlier this year, I suggested to put several of each flavour at the checkout supervisors' desk so don't have to walk far to get them.0 -

I'm a newbie on this website, so hello! Interesting to read these posts about Morrisons. We're severely limited as to which supermarkets we can get to, and we like Morrisons. This week, we found that they were doing packs of 4 tins of Branston baked beans, which we usually buy, and found it was a lot cheaper to buy separate tins. Granted, they weren't claiming this time that the 4-packs were on special offer, but they usually are, so it pays to check. Seems they sometimes try to lull you into a false sense of security.0

I remember when Cadbury Fingers (CF's) always used to be 99p or £1.09 and BOGOF - not that long ago either.
Image how many single packs of CF's they would sell at £1.89 per pack, or indeed Pringles at £2.49!!!
The 3 items works out OK, but the single pack price is a scandal.
Strange way to try and "hoodwink" their customers, though to be fair their customers aren't that daft and understand what's going on.
I personally think from a company point of view they would be better off just promoting say 3 packs of CF's for £1.89 (same deal obviously), but then they could sell single packs at a "decent" everyday price and not over-inflate to create a BOG2F offer illusion.
No CF's for myself this year, much better offers out there - Lidl's half-priice weekend offer this weekend offer much nicer biscuits than CF's (IMHO).
