It is also worth pointing out that some people think it is fun to infect files with viruses and put them on torrent, so if you are going to use this for file sharing (which as others have pointed out is more often than not illegal anyway) at least make sure your anti virus software is up-to-date and preferably download to an external hard-drive and scan it before putting it on the pc

Your stats (approx 2.5GB in 1.75 days) equates to about 1.4GB per day, or approx 42GB per month. 27GB in 15 days (per your OP) equates to about 1.8GB per day.

My money is on the torrents, like others have said.

I thought BT Broadband traffic shaped downloads, so the likes of torrents would be severly restricted. Now I'm slightly worried having just changed from Infinity unlimited down to Infinity Option 1 (40GB). Had read a while back, in Infinity's early days about a few people having their 'usage' vastly exceeding what their router/net monitors reported.

Infinity with the 40GB cap is a bit pointless, you'll go through that very quickly.
