T-Mobile Roaming
I have an ongoing dispute with T-Mobile
My mobile phone bill averages less than 20 pounds per month
Whilst in USA I logged on to my bill to find that I had accumulated
1,195 pounds in just 10 days. I would not have discovered this extortionate amount if I had not logged on-line.
Calling from USA I blocked all usuage on the Mobile until I returned one month later.
Since Nov I have ongoing tried to get TMobile to reduce this bill but they have stubbornly refused.
I received details of the bill after some altercation.
The costs incurred over two days Day1 592pounds day 2 388pounds
for Internet roaming. I had wireless internet in my apartment and had no need for this facility.
I also discovered that I have a credit limit of 4,800
I would have been able to spend 5,000 pounds without knowing.
Has anyone had this experience with mobile companies and how can I resolve

Just search the board for 'data and roaming' and you'll find dozens of similar threads. Usually it is iPhone.
The fact that you "had no need in this facility" is irrelevant. What matters is whether you (or your phone without asking you) used it or not. It costs £7.50/Mb in USA.
If it was iPhone see this article: Complaints over erroneous iPhone data roaming charges0 -
Unfortunately, it seems like you did NOT disable data roaming. So, even though you had WiFi as you said, anytime Wifi is not used, you used the cellular network. As you said, the bill obviously showed you used it. Your best bet is to plead with them to see if they can reduce it.
It amazes me though, that with the hundreds of similar posts here, folks still travel with their smartphones and forget to disable data roaming/cellular network.
Best of luck.0 -
why arent mobile networks doing more to warn customers
week after week they all come on after taking the smartphone abroad because they now have a whopping huge billReplies to posts are always welcome, If I have made a mistake in the post, I am human, tell me nicely and it will be corrected. If your reply cannot be nice, has an underlying issue, or you believe that you are God, please post in another forum. Thank you0 -
At £7.50 per Mb that equates to just under 160Mb. Not a huge amount and certainly possible to run up in 10 days.
But you are right to challenge it. Last year T-mobile tried to charge me for going over my data allowance while on holiday in Spain. The fact that I went swimming with my phone after a couple of days (and it remained in bits for the rest of the holiday) meant that there was no way I had gone over the limit. They eventually agreed that I hadn't used the data and that it was their mistake.0 -
