Another one who can't read.
Sorry OP, this is definitely my last post on your thread. Good luck.
Exactly I said I could move but only if I could get to a job for the weeks before I found a place and saved up a deposit or the job was more than £6.20 an hour.
Thank you, the job interview on Monday is only an 18 hour post but the wages are good enough to enable to me to work part time with a view to work full time in future.0 -
Unless you live out of a suitcase, moving costs money.shop-to-drop wrote: »Is there a reason that you can not move if you find work outside your current area?"Never underestimate the mindless force of a government bureaucracyseeking to expand its power, dominion and budget"Jay Stanley, American Civil Liberties Union.0 -

This is true but doesn't make it an unreasonable question as getting a job should bring more money in. People move to get work all the time the OP didn't say in her opening post that she has no money to move or what wage the job she is applying for will be. I still think the question is reasonable. I didn't say she should move I just asked if it was possible. I got an overdraft to pay for moving when getting a job that required moving 300 miles for. Housing benefit may be paid and at a higher rate where the job is. Moving was definitely something that the op should consider.:j Trytryagain FLYLADY - SAYE £700 each month Premium Bonds £713 Mortgage Was £100,000@20/6/08 now zilch 21/4/15:beer: WTL - 52 (I'll do it 4 MUM)0 -

I have 8k in debt so an overdraft etc won't happen, working full time I doubt I would be entitled to any help from the council. I have no furniture etc.0 -
alot of what they posted was incorrect though. they cant expect you to apply for work somewhere you cant get to as that is plain stupid. the incompetent amongst the staff may try to get the person sanctioned but they would win on appeal providing they can show what they say is fact.Shooting the messenger isn't going to solve the problem is it?
As I read it SarEl was simply explaining what the rules ARE, not making any comment on what she thought they should be.0 -
Agreed, it is a possibility that should be considered.shop-to-drop wrote: »Moving was definitely something that the op should consider.
What is of concern is that some in the DWP seem to think that it is practical in every case, and that people can be forced into doing it."Never underestimate the mindless force of a government bureaucracyseeking to expand its power, dominion and budget"Jay Stanley, American Civil Liberties Union.0 -
they remove the ability to restrict yourself to a certain type of work. they dont start telling people they have to work somewhere they cant get to. there is no specifics on distance. the only thing they change is the travel time from 60 minutes to 90 minutes.Good God can't anyone read any more? I am not telling her to move. I am not telling her that public transport is wonderful. I am saying that the JobCentre do have the ability to remove restrictions - and they do. Whether this spplies to the OP or not I can't say - but that is between the OP and the JobCentre isn't it?
its not you people took issue with, just the content of your post. they dont say people should be willing to travel 20 miles unless the journey can be done within the maximum time they are required to travel.0 -
i know of someone getting sanctioned when they were told they wouldnt get sanctioned.so your advisor has picked up a job which is within the travelling time you have agreed to (providing the hours match up with buses which is fair enough) and you don't KNOW the job doesn't fit with travel time, and he has said you won't be sanctioned if you can't accept the job if the hours aren't compatible with public transport?
Really don't see why you are pee'd of with the advisor0 -
OP the interview your going for on Monday is it for the company direct or an agency? It's better to regret something I did do than to regret something that I didn’t. :EasterBun0
