Leaking Washer Bottle
My washer bottle is leaking badly 90% pours ot. The problem is I need to remove the mudguard to get to it. So I only want to do this once.
I reckon the leak is either a hole or a problem with the washer where the pipes come out. I suspect a hole as I think there has been some chaffing.
What stuff can you use to patch a hole? Anything else worth having to hand when I tackle this?

Depending on the car, I'd get a bottle from a scrapyard. Better than having to do the job twice!0

resin epoxy, great for bridging holes the size of a 50P peice, you know the stuff no one buys because its in a dual tube you have to mix it wait hour or 2 for it cure, thats good for bridging the hole and water tight sealing it use a filler application card and a plastic plate to mix.
or it maybe a case your pipes got blocked and when you hit the squirter the motor popped out of its hole or the pipes blew off.0 -
what car is it? and are uyou sure the pipe hasnt blown off due to it been frozen etc0

It's a Cherokee (a year ago I knew where all the write offs were not now) so not ten a penny.
We haven't really had any frost yet and it had the good Lidl screen wash in at 50:50. That is not to say that isn't the problem.
I was thinking epoxy resin but was hoping there might be something easier.0 -
Yes scrapyard or eBay as said....
I'd go for the easy route with that TBH

I'd go for a second hand one as well. better than trying to repair it.

not bad prices on ebay.0 -
stupid money for new wash bottle from jeep chrysler fiat alpha what ever they want to be called.
watch wich ones you buy on ebay unless you can see the bottle itself and know it fits dont go for those 7.99 mafco cheapy universal things, they never fit without cutting something off or drilling a new mount hole or bracket.
id go for the easiest fix ever, peice of plastic cut to fit over hole superglued inplace all round with a bit of 100% silicone to seal the edges (bath sealant etc what ever you can lay your hand on)
epoxy fix would be better as it wont flex with cold heat0 -
if you can get to the wiring why not put another bottle under the bonnet if there is room rather than repairing this one0

Check the price of a new one before splashing out on a 2nd hand one.
Lots of 2nd hand car bits being advertised for more than the dealers sell them new.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
