If you want to screw into concrete use Tapcon screws screfix part number 76958, no need for plastic plugs. Or ones by Heco part number 45200.
Have a look at the manufactureres website for approvals and loads.

I've never seen these before, but they seem like a good idea. I can't get my head around the idea that they would give a good fix in concrete without plugs, but I'm sure they do.

"Spax" make decent screws, I think they are German if your looking for best quality screws try and buy Winzer-Wurth screws. They are German made,German quality .They have 2 types Ecofast and Wupofast, the only difference is Ecofast are designed to countersink in easier.

If you can't get them then go for "Spax" ,I think screwfix sell them which is unusual as Screwfix (in my opinion) tend to sell rubbish....

Speaking as a qualified Joiner they are the ones I recommend.........

been looking for those Winzer-Wurth screws, but I can't find them anywhere.... I'm in the Newcastle area, can anyone suggest places that stock them?

    I'll happily buy them online.

P.s looking for a case with a good mix of them in...

and Kingfisher bought Screwfix from the man who founded it and he promptly went off and started Toolstation with the resultant dosh. Just to complete the tale.
