Where does it say that that tablet is Kindle compatible? It say that it is ebook compatible for the ePub standard. You can use that app to read ePub books, not Kindle ones. You can alternatively use the Kindle app (Android version) to buy and read ebooks from the Kindle store.

No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
  • I agree, it doesn't. But I'm sure it did on the advert for the Odys, the tablet I actually bought. Never mind though, I will be very happy with Gutenberg :) - and thanks for your help

Sorry to revert back to the original query, but actually it's quite easy to share the books on the Amazon site.

When logged into Amazon and on your account page, scroll down to the bottom of the page and click the link for "Manage Your Kindle". Then on the left "Manage Your Devices". Take a note of the Serial Number for your kindle and on the right "Deregister".

Log out of Amazon and log in to DH's account. Follow above instructions up to "Manage Your Devices" then on the left click "Register a Kindle" and enter the Serial Number and click "Register".

Any of the books in DH's list that you don't have you can then download, it will give you the option to choose which Kindle to download to.

Wait until all are downloaded before going back to "Manage Your Devices" and deregister your Kindle. Log in to your Amazon Account, follow above instructions to Register your Kindle - back to normal. Your Kindle should have all books, both downloaded from your account and from DH's.

You can reverse the process if DH wants some of yours.
