If they can't find any record of the mortgage, try asking them for a letter confirming that you do not have a mortgage and don't owe them anything and they will remove their name from your deeds.
We had issues with Nationwide a few years back when we sold the house and they didn't take early repayment charge. After few months chacib them we got them to issue us with the letter saying we don't owe them anything.Spring into Spring 2015 - 0.7/12lb0 -
