Can I get a Blue Badge if I have a mental disability?

            I couldn't agree more.
My mother managed to get a BB and definitely shouldn't have qualified for one. She gets about quite happily when she wants to and does gardening for hours on end. There are many poor able-bodied people who have to pay for parking, while disabled (or sometimes not) people with a BB enjoy free parking even if they are rich. The car parks have to be funded so those who do pay have to pay more to cover those who don't.
Nobody gets free fuel to run their car do they?
 Yet another ignoramus.
Not all car parks offer free parking to BB holders, I know that NONE of the car parks in our local town do.
Maybe you should try reading up on a subject before making comment.[SIZE=-1]To equate judgement and wisdom with occupation is at best . . . insulting.

I don't remember saying that ALL car parks charge. I base my opinions on many years experience of real life. How does that make me an ignoramus?

Just noting on the bit in bold. Someone can be a millionaire and still need to park close because of their disability. Being rich doesn't take away the fact that they have mobility problems and pain.2019 Wins

I accept your point entirely and totally agree with you. I understand that rich people have every right to a BB to enable them to use designated spaces close to where they need to go. My real gripe is that a BB can and often does entitle the holder to park for free while those without a BB often have to pay.
Disability and/or being in pain doesn't necessarily equate to being poor, and conversely being able-bodied doesn't mean that one is rich.
I do however accept that there may be SOME holders of BB's who would have difficulty using the pay machines in car parks. Maybe there should be two distinct types of BB to accommodate this fact.
It still remains a further fact that nobody gets free fuel for their vehicle.Never trust a financial institution.
