absolute terrible decesion made by some stupid healthy person,,i have also heard peoplee losing HRM,because they can get to therre place ,,by the wheel chair that they use,,,this government is needing a kick up a ss ,and start to treat disabled people with respect
That simply is not true whatsoever.
First of all you cant comment on the little girls case as you know nothing about it.
Second of all to say that people loose DLA because they can "get to there (not my spelling) place by wheelchair" is nonsense. What place? And not everyone on DLA has a wheelchair.
  • I have Bipolar & wouldn't have even thought about getting a blue badge to be honest. Would be interested to see if anyone with this disorder does hold a blue badge.
  • To Bi-P's in particular and all others in general considering an application, whatever happened before this 2012 year is about to change with both new & renewal applicants, see #20 for the new criteria.

    Best of luck.

the devil made me do it. Please don't take my reply to you as condercending, but how refreshing such an outlook. You are able bodied and don't expect one.

They should also start looking at the OAP's who appear to be fit and walk around these massive centres and stores, yet have a badge.

Yes I have an out look many with MH conditions hate/disagree with, but able bodied (two legs and body that work well enough), should never get a blue badge. Physically disabled cannot do half the things the rest of able bodied society can, blue badges for those who have a need, not desire.

To post a view from the other side of the coin..... I had a hindquarter amputation and still had to go for and actually complete a physical test to get my blue badge!

A hindquarter amputation is a whole leg and a damned large portion of pelvis to go with it, removed due to cancer and hopefully all clear now despite the sad loss of my 44 year old leg (it just missed my recent 45th birthday). I literally had to attend a meeting and answer a lot of questions and then she asked me to get out of my wheelchair and onto my crutches (yes, I took them just in case) and she was wanting me to walk down the hall and back. I only made it as far as the office door before she called me back having seen the excruciating pain I was in.

I look at it from the amusing side now but it was no fun on the day and I was left to feel like I was hiding this other leg that had gone missing or something! All I can say is that I wish you good luck if you're with Leeds City Council. If they go to those lengths with people in my condition, well..........

Indeed, I was stunned when summoned for that but hey ho, you've gotta jump through all of this red tape one way or another. :)

    I couldn't agree more.

My mother managed to get a BB and definitely shouldn't have qualified for one. She gets about quite happily when she wants to and does gardening for hours on end. There are many poor able-bodied people who have to pay for parking, while disabled (or sometimes not) people with a BB enjoy free parking even if they are rich. The car parks have to be funded so those who do pay have to pay more to cover those who don't.

Nobody gets free fuel to run their car do they?
