Cat beds

Our puss sleeps all over the place when she has naps during the day but at night time she always goes to her bed. Its a habit we got into when we first got her and my soft hubby covers her up with a fleece cover before he comes to bed.0

Our five sleep in all sorts of places like those already mentioned, but all still regularly sleep in the various cat beds we have
They need to be off the ground as cats generally won't sleep in them if they can feel any sort of draught, plus they like to be up high so they can keep a watchful eye on anything going on around them.

I recently bought a couple of fleecy pads designed to sit on your windowsills which my two love - if the curtains are shut, they have a terrific little hidden spot and as/when the sun shines, they love to sunbathe and soak up the heat. They're inconspicuous, cheap (I bought on offer form Zooplus, I think) and are off the ground and don't take up space in the room. Of course, the cats still take over the sofa and all soft, flat surfaces as and when they choose - I'd also recommend a fleece blanket or two to pop over chairs/sofas, etc. that can be washed regularly as needed.0

I don't think they need a bed, but I do think they need somewhere that they know they can sleep/chill out. Our cat wasn't very grounded, wouldn't really settle in the house for any length of time etc. and by putting a blanket on an armchair for him and putting one of his toys on it, and getting him a bed he now spends much more time in. I think having a "place" they can think of as predominantly their's is a good idea but it doesn't have to be a bed. His actual bed is a floofy medium dog bed (he's a very big cat) but he spends more time on his blanket on the armchair.Officially in a clique of idiots0

when we had beebs, he had a cat tree and a cat bed which he never slept on, he was quite happy with a fleece blanket, as are the two new ones0

My cat at my mums had a radiator bed and loved it. Might get him one of those for his Christmas :P His favourite place to sleep is on my legs when I am reclining on the couch !0 -

Boxes, armchairs, handbags, shoes, curtains, windowsills, bookcases, open newspapers and human beds are all perfectly adequate for felines.
Unless you have a dog. Then that dog's bed will be the best cat bed in the world, ever.
Tottaly true.
4 cats, 1 dog here.
Got an ortho bed for Zara, XL size as she is a GS - all cats love to sleep on her bed ignoring the ones that were "meant" for them (read CAT beds)
They sleep on:
kitchen worktop
kitchen table
kitchen chairs
sofas
armchairs
cat tree shelves
my bed
other bed
all windows
on the printer
on the computer desk
anywhere apart form "cat" bed....
