  • So having a wee look through my wee finances sheet today & I have realised a few things:-

5 more payments until Very & MBNA are cleared then that will be 2 debts busted!
6 more payments until my personal loan is cleared then that will be 3 debts busted!
7 more payments until Santander CC is cleared then that will be 4 debts busted!
11 more payments until Hitachi & SAAS is cleared then that will be all 6 debts busted & I will be debt free!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Eeeeeek I am counting down the pay days!

Still have a couple of days to wait to see if my ebay stuff sells I really hope it does cos then that can go towards 1 of the debts!

Hope your all having a fad debt busting time of it like I am!

Not long left now :D Your doing great :T
  • Oh thanks my love!

I am totally addicted to this site & to getting rid of this debt I cannot imagine how I am going to feel when its gone though! I know I will be ecstatic & elated but probably be looking for another challenge afterwards!

I was thinking earlier about starting to plan for retirement - now I am gonna be 29 in March so not like I'm gonna be chuckin the towel in with work in the next few years but I want to be able to relax & enjoy my OAP days you know!

Anyway I'll probably be best posting this in the saving sections or the retirement section but anyway here goes!

I calculated that if from next year I save £100 a month until I am 66 then I would have saved £43200 which would obv me amazing to have when I retire but what with the rate of inflation blah blah blah I'm not sure where to put this money when I'm saving it?!?!?!?

Anyway I'm babbling on this is gonna be something I can look into once I'm debt free but because the end is now near with that my minds already a way ahead of myself as usual haha!

Cant help on that front lol but yes I'd post over in the savings board Im sure there will be someone who knows the best way to save :)
  • I'm with HiddenIdentity on this, I haven't the faintest clue - and in all honesty, I don't know whether half of the people who claim to know what they are doing can predict what it is going to be like in 30 years time :o My father in law is on his high horse at the moment as he has paid so much into pensions over the years and they are worth didly squat - he says he would have been better putting it under the floor boards :(

It is something when we eventually become debt free, we will have to think about as I have no provision at all (nearly 34 yrs old), maybe one day I'll win the lottery :D
    Just keep swimming!
  • Gah - I am paying off my credit cards at more than the minimum payment so I cancelled the DD's paid well before the payment due date but MBNA have added an admin fee as I didnt tell them I was cancelling the DD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bloody swines - I just told them to close the account not wanting to use it again anyway!

Apart from that everything else is still going ok - oh actually apart from the dietin but thats another story haha!

  • Dolly, right there with you on the diet front...... will get with the programme at some point, I am not sure my LBM has happened property in respect of my diet :o
    Just keep swimming!
  • Yeah me either tbh! I am joining the gym again so starting from Monday this should defo help

  • Well its almost pay day again which means 1 more month closer to debt freedomness!

  • Woo pay day!!!

Cant believe I actually look forward to pay day so I can actually pay my debts haha!:p

If someone would have told me this is how I would be a few years ago I would have :rotfl:

So I paid off the following today:-

    £199.00 - Very
    £100.00 - Santander Credit Card
    £207.00 - MBNA Credit Card

More DD's coming off tomorrow are:-

    £160.00 - Personal Loan
    £30.00 - SAAS
    £132.03 - Hitachi

So these will all clear anyway I'm like Hitler when it comes to my finances these days much to my OH's  haha I'm sure he'll love me more when we're debt free though he just doenst realise it yet.

Anyway once these all clear this means that I have £7103.82 left to pay off - Och just would loved to have come under that £7k bracket but its not to be at the moment.

I have a set budget for weekly shopping though & have been coming under that the last few weeks so whatever is left at the end of the month I will get that paid to the debt aswell.

    Mwahhhhh
